i got my 42" vanguard today. i think that when you stand on the board it should flatten out the camber, but not too much. i guess it all depends on how hard you are jumping on it. if you are hopping on it and it is bottoming out, i would say that it is too flexy. if you are fully jumping on it and it is bottoming out, i would say that it is ok.

nah man, that's an awesome board, that's what josh was riding in the genadd videos at like 170, and I ride one

you can jump on those ****ers and bottom them out all you want they'll never break.

for a while I was riding a flex 3 with a hole in it from being run over. never had a problem.

I dunno man maybe that ****'s not for you

if you don't like it ask them if they'll trade you for a stiffer flex

I believe you went one "flex" too high. I weigh approx. 160 and got a flex 3 Pin. It is absolutely perfect. I'm sure it would be right for you too. Give the guys at Loaded a call. They're really down-to-earth people and I'm sure they'd work with you...expecially since you JUST got the board. Good luck to you.
I search for absolutes...there are absolutely none.

the idea behind the board being so flexy is so that u can get sicker angles through the carves. as u initiate a turn and weight the board, the deck flexes way down, changing the angle of the trucks to that of extremely angled risers. ya, it's not gonna be the best for downhill but for mellow carving, cruising and the occasional garage, it will probably only help yur skating.

if u really dont like it, just call the shop number and they'll be glad to work it all out for u.

    later and good luck

i weigh 155 and the 4 is getting to be too much flex for me. the boards take about a week or so to break in. if u have any heavier friends that skate, have them skate it for a while. this will help it break in alot faster.

trust me u got the right board, it just takes time to get it to where u want it.

those exkates are gonna make the board feel super stiff, because the trucks are so much more turny than the board is flexy. its like the trucks are overriding the flex of the board.
