    Default Boxes for Boards?

I need to put a longboard in the mail and the last time I did that I ended up paying Mailbox Express $15 on a wayyy too big box because they didn't have anything smaller.

What kind of boxes are good for shipping boards in? The board I need to ship is a landyachtz drop carve with trucks attached. Any suggestions?

If you remove the hangers, it will probably fit in an 8x8x48 box, which is a pretty standard size.

You can go to your local skate shop, or snowboard shop, and see if they have a box that they received a longboard in, or a box that they received a snowboard in.

I just go down to my recycling room and get some large pieces of cardboard, cut up some big square boxes if need be, and then create the right sized box myself. The master of this technique is actually LBL. All his board boxes are 'custom made' by him and look like they were manufactured to his specs.

Go to a big guitar store as well. Some guitar boxes are around those specs, but wider.

I work shipping stuff for a store that sells things on eBay. A lot of times, with items bigger than we have a box to fit, we'll take two boxes and tape them together. Sounds (and even looks!) sketchy, but we've shipped an expensive accordian to England and it apparently made it just fine, of course, we also bubble wrap and use peanuts.

Go to the dumpster behind your local bicycle shop, a box for a 20" bike works like a champ, just cut it down to fit.

We actually get boxes like that from some of our distro's. I usually happens when there's a longboard in that particular order, so you can tell they haven't ordered (m)any boxes that long.

If close to Oceanside you can stop by our shop and we can help you out. Just make sure to take a good look at the products while you are there. If you want the address let me know.
