Squeaking sound under my board
Hey, I didn't see a troubleshooting forum here, but I have a potential problem with my board. When I'm riding, I sometimes hear a squeaking sound, like a mouse, underneath my board. I only hear it when I'm riding slowly (the road noise must block it out when I'm riding faster). It's not very loud but it's noticeable and it's erratic. Don't ask, I already checked for any rodents underneath my deck. My first idea was that it was something gunking up my bearings, but I cleaned them out and it still happens. Anyone have any idea what the problem might be? If it is something, is it a problem that could affect my ride?
My skateboards are often confused with surfboards.

a few of my boards make a sound similar to this. but in my case its the bushings squeaking and its only when i turn... is that what your hearing? it could also be a bearing spinning on the inside of the wheel instead of the bearing race

Re: Squeaking sound under my board
Put some soap shavings in your pivot cup.

Re: Squeaking sound under my board
Yeah ^^^^^^^^ it is more than likely pivot cup. You got a lot of options for some quality lube, never tried soap shavings though, I'll have to give that a go myself.

Re: Squeaking sound under my board
Yup, as people have already said, probably your bushings. I would smear them in a thick lube. The thicker the better. The thicker the lube, the longer it will go without being washed off by water etc. Good luck!

NO!!! I would not smear my bearings with thick lube. All you have to do is get a bar of soap from your shower, and cut some shavings off without your mom seeing you destroy your soap. Then take off your truck hangar and put some shavings into the pivot cup. Lube in the pivot cup won't work as good as soap shavings because it doesn't really act as a cushion for the grinding metal on metal.

Re: Squeaking sound under my board
hmmm...
well
you more than likely have a family of mice living on the underside of your board. easy fix with some rat poison. problem solved.
and do not put lube on bushings. pivot cup yeah but not bushings. you will get a point where the trucks will suddenly dive because the bushing slips in the bushing seat. result is sketchy turns.

Almost all boards/trucks make noises, just accept it and carry on with your life...

It's quite the opposite, It only happens when I'm going straight. Any pressure on the rails at all and the noise stops. I bought some skate lubricant and I'm going to lube the pivot cup and see if it fixes it and if not I'll try the bushings.
Thanks for the responses, everyone!

I wouldn't either. However, the BUSHINGS is a whole other buisness It's worked wonders for me and not affected riding characteristics.

Re: Squeaking sound under my board
Just buy a new board, and make sure it's more expensive than the one you have now. That should solve the problem. If something arises with the new board, just do the same thing again.

Re: Squeaking sound under my board
It could be the Pivot Cups, just replace them to be sure.
Mother: I won't buy you a new board, look what happened to Christopher Reeve, Just from falling on his back he got paralysed and I dont want the same thing to happen to you
Me: Mom, Speedboards don't paralyse people , Horses do......
