Default My adventure. (pics of board)

I emailed Comet skateboards to check if they had any Comet Rocket completes left and they said they just sold the last one. Then another email came thru from Jonathan from Comet Skateboards and he said he found one left in the storage room that didn't show up on inventory. So I snatched it up! 135 for a complete, shipped! I'm so excited! :P Sorry just had to tell everyone.

    Edit:
    Here are the specs..

    Deck: Rocket 9" x 33"
    Griptape: Jessup
    Front riser: Wedge COMET Riser
    Rear riser: Wedge COMET Riser
    Bearings: Abec 3
    Trucks: Randal R2-150
    Wheels: Comet 70mm/80A Navy[/img]

thats a nice step from a shortboard, just make sure to upgrade your randals with new washers bushings and kingpin (search around you will find the info on what to do for that its really easy)

    Thanks for the advice.

edit: I did a search and have been reading horror stories about Randal trucks. Baseplate crooked, drill's off and such. I'm definately changing out the kingpin and bushings. I just hope everything else is okay.

    thats a frikkin sweet board!
I've tried one out before and it handles real nice plus it even has a functional kicktail. Its pretty stiff but all the carbon in it makes for a really nice snappy feel. Great for flats and transportation with loose trucks and quite stable at speed too if you crank your trucks down a bit.

I just effing got back from riding! It was waiting all day to find out it was delivered to my neighbor. But I got it and took it out. Stiff and responsive. I've never been on a flexy board before but it felt like it had a little flex.

I started off leaving my house and going down the flat street, experiencing the longboarding experience for the first time. First reaction: "Like butta!" carving and pumping was so awesome. With the rocket i had my feet on the whole time on flatland. The length is awesome.I head for the hill that leads to another hill that leads to more hills on a bike trail. The first hill (the hill I practice my slides on with my shortboard) was intense and a bit scary! I wasn't expecting to go so fast since my shortboard isn't as fast. My gloves were tucked in my pants and I put them on just incase I need to stop suddenly if I were to get too uncomfortable. Comfortable enough to spread out my legs more on a bigger board. Tried different tucks, stances, everything. I splashed thru a small puddle but I stopped and wiped my baby down. To wrap up my rambling, I freakin had fun and I'm glad I spent my money on this board. Thanks to Jonathan from Comet for the free shirt, stickers and condoms. I need to get better bushings. Kicktail rules too. I don't even think anyone is reading lol.

    Pics! I forgot pics, here:

Nice board! And it looks like you've already got the flat washers on there. That's dope.

They ride pretty nice. I've never ridden anything but shortboard wheels so it's a big step up. They are 78A so they are pretty sticky. I love they way my board sounds when I'm cruisin'. I haven't tried sliding on them yet. Pumping and taking corners feel awesome.

So I just got my first road rash from longboarding... already. So I'm cruisin around my neighborhood.. all kinds of hills, light to medium steepness. So I'm right outside my neighborhood pushing along the sidewalk, when my left foot that I push with (goofy stance) , hits the back left wheel, rotates my board to where it is now horizontal, and then I trip over it as my board rolls into the grass. I didn't have any protection on cuz I didn't think cruisin was going to be this extreme (like tripping over your board lol, plus I dont own pads) I had to push all the way back to my house. By that time my shorts have soaked some blood and my wrist hurts... but yea...pics? of course.

    light damage:

    some soakage:

    some damage:

Note to self: Get pads and a helmet. Shortboarding, I'm worried about rolling my ankle and the board hitting my shins from tricks. Now I'm worried about sliding across the pavement.

Sliding across the pavement is fun when done properly.
