Kinda long, Wasn't sure if this was a building question or a general question...but it is a what kind of board question so here it goes...
I'm at school and while I love my pintail very much.... it's damn heavy sooo I'm thinking mini. But what kind of mini? I have three basic ideas right now
1. I have a one of those little target mini single-kick decks boards that I have set up right now with ventures and 60mm no schoolz. I mounted the rear truck on the kick wich makes it almost rideable, cept I keep getting foot bite. I'm thinking of setting this up with the GF Hurley trucks.
Upsides of this plan...cheap just buy new trucks
downsides-I lose that big wheel feel which I like a lot
2. I assempled a roarkit longboard kit but i messed it up,did not check bag and it leaked (NO!), managed to salvage it somewhat by gluing the rest of the layers up flat but the rear just didn't glue together right(front seems fine) and I would have to lose at least 8in before i feel ok riding it. Anyway my idea is to cut it out into a shape similar to the lil gaffer. If i go with this idea i'm thinking 215mm trackers with flashbacks.
upsides-BIG wheels![]()
Downsides-this setup seems to scream footbite....the trucks are just so wide, pricy new trucks and new wheels
3. Mini schlong! found some blank mini shortboards cheap, either 26 by 7 or 29 by 7.5 leaning towards the 29. with this i'm going for a complete, so I can put the trucks and wheels on my new slide setup, then this will get the ventures and the bigger pink wheels.
upsides-low to the ground and big wheels
downsides-I've heard these don't work so well...and really pricy but i will have enough stuff for a whole second deck...
Sooo what do you think what kind of mini should I build up? Keep in mind... My current deck is drop through and I want to stay low and while I think eventually I'll build them all, right now i just get one.
Thanks
