    Default staring at the quiver......

is the obsession growing so much that you find yourself staring at the decks in your quiver for hours on end? Do you sit there at three in the morning cleaning, polishing and and dispensing a single drop of oil into each bearing? do you pull the bearings out of your wheels and carefully wash and dry the wheels, then inspect them for cuts and nicks, sometimes lamenting at a tiny shard of glass you find....? Do you have digital calipers and measure all your bearing spacers, discarding those that are not exactly 10mm? Do you carefully wrap your spare bearings in butcher paper and label them as "oil" or "grease" lubed? Do you own a thread chaser and do you occasionally thread it onto your axles to ensure there are no damaged threads? do you have a huge box of Nylock axle nuts and replace the nuts every time you change the wheels, sometimes 2- 4 times a day?

    i need help......

    I am very stoked.

well sometimes i bring along two or three sets of different wheels to try out, so after putting them on and taking them off....i ussually change out the Nylock about every 4th wheelchange..the little plastic "lock" in the nut gets worn out so......

    Default Obsessed!

Of course I don't do any of that,(surrounded by all my new stuff), and even if I did there would be nothing wrong with it!! Btw spacers are supposed to 10.16 mm, not that I measure them or anything!!
There are lots of worse things to be obsessed about, at leasst thats what I tell my GF!

...from what I know of Bushman he does indeed often ride 'em at 3 a.m!

Enjoy your boards Bushman. I for one am hoping that some day when you have your own longboard company making sweet custom decks I'll be able to say, "I knew him when he just had a couple of planks and he rode 'em around the neighbourhood at 3 a.m."

Obsessing about your board like that reminds me of a couple summers ago when I paintballed a lot. I didn't like paintballing as much as I loved messing with the markers, making them shoot faster and faster.

Axle nuts are cheap, especially if you buy them in boxes of 100. Same with kingpin nuts.

Did you see the uber-precision spacers on ncdsa.com? $3.00. Each. Yes, $3.00 for one spacer. I find Biltins more than adequate m'self.

huh, I don't do any of that.

Boards are made to be ridden, so I ride them into the ground and abuse them. If you limit yourself to keeping your board nice, I think you limit your riding.

Of course I make a lot of my own boards, so I don't feel to bad breaking something that cost me 20 bucks to make.
