Yeah my friend did this on a year old Switchblade, snapped within a week. Not a great idea.

so i took an old busted up sec 9 sand wedge, trimmed it down to 29.5", filled in the front flush mount with some birch and titebond 3, and today gold paint both sides, 2 layers of s-glass bottom, cut a sicktail out of scrap wood, and tomorrow its getting one layer of s-glass on top, then redrill the holes, grip, and pics to follow.

    So... I'm acquiring a topmount 12two5, I want a sym topmount freeride/dh deck. I get bored.

    I'll just leave this here...

EDIT: damn resizing making colors unreadable... black dimensions are the 12two5 ones, green are what it's getting cut into...

I'm really looking to have it as a pure topmount, kicks during races freak me out, I can't use kicks anyways... haha. This thing is also going to be waisted slightly, and make the gas pedals slightly longer. Not to mention slight W for the whole thing, and faux-microdrops on both ends.

    pure topmount? haha
Chop off the kicks if you must, however I find kicks to add a little bit of fun when you aren't haulin balls. The waist sounds like money. The longer gas pedals sound kinda norcal, you gonna be monkey grippin' all those toeside drifts brah? Duct-tape layers are excellent for faux pockets and w cave. Don't forget sanding in new wheel wells to accommodate the smaller wheelbase.

Keep us posted on the chop man, eager to see how it turns out.

Haha, I do monkey toe it up... that's how I've learned my toeside checks so oh well, not all of us can be that steezy =P

I really like getting as close to over the bolts as I can when I'm going fast, and the kicks just seem too newschool for my tastes. We'll see what exactly I decide to do with it. I was already planning on duct tape for all of the shaping work, I think the waist will help a lot too. Oh, and don't forget the 12two5 has rocker as well...

Someone needs to sponsor me so this can be my pro-model already.

Does this qualify as a BrickShark?
Nose was splintered and destructed when I bought it, so chopping it was pretty much the only way to salvage.

No pics just at the moment, but after seeing the new Nelson Tempest which has the usual Nelson all direction concave at the drops, I went and made similar pockets using the duct tape method on my DK penguin. It used to be good, now it is AWESOME.

Nothing wrong with monkey-toe bro! I agree, the small slight kicks are very newshcool, what people need to do are race hightailers and such, full kicks are waaaayyyy better. The waist is gonna feel good for footbraking, the rocker will feel rad as well.

I concur with the promodel movement. Being a 925 (business time) you should call it a loanshark.
