Why all the loaded hate?

I constantly hear people dissing on loaded boards; especially the vanguard and dervish. Can anyone explain why?

I have been learning to ride on a preloved dervish; and it is wonderful.

It is flex 1 and I weigh roughly 200 lbs. It is a bit flexier than I expected, but it doesnt feel flimsy or anything. It feels comfortable under my feet.

From what I understand it is fairly versatile; and i look forward to learning a lot on this board. But, my oppinions are very limited seeing as it is the only board I have really ridden.

The only concern I have is durability; but that is why I ordered some noseguards.

So to all you people who dislike loaded and the dervish in particular, why? What am I missing?

people dislike loaded because they are overpriced, and not very functional.

they have very little concave, they are to flexy to do any real DH on them. they are the Kia of longboards.

they are good for what they are made to do, but even then they are still way overpriced.

However, if you ask me, much of the hate comes from them being so popular. I dislike them because of their price, and they don't really fit with what I like to do, but if they were some indie company that no one knew about, I don't think anyone would hate them. All the noobs that declare they know everything about longboarding and how their tan tien is the best dh board in the world... that's what makes me want to pull my hair out, and Loaded just gets caught up in the middle of that.

I'd say most of the hate, if any, goes to the tan tien and the apex, particularly the apex. The dervish and the dancer don't get as much IMO.

People seem to have a problem with how they think loaded presents themselves (bleeding edge and awesome products and all), when the company really produces a line that's somewhat narrow in scope, and given materials, average specs and all should be a great deal cheaper than they are.

It also contributes that you read a lot of uninformed, overly enthusiastic people onyoutube or other social internet cesspits pimping loaded like it's the only and the absolute best brand out there (not really a fault of Loaded that they have excellent marketing), and much the same way Apple fanbois make most people hate the brand by reflection, Loaded copes some hate for some of the stupid fanbase they are (unwillingly) generating and releasing in the wild

^ Agreed. It's because everyone had a Dervish. I got mine on a killer deal and I got my moneys worth out of it. Fun board if all you got is flats. Makes for a dank ass commuter board.

Well if the only discussion on Loaded that you have seen is on SF than that's clearly why you would assume so. Regardless of the products Loaded offers, they still put a lot back into local communities. We as skateboarders should appreciate that.

My impression of their boards is a little different. First off, I'm not quite sure on the production of their boards. I would guess they receive bamboo laminates somewhere from SE Asia, and Loaded than applies the fiberglass. Their bamboo and fiberglass layup just doesn't hold up. Every Dervish I've seen sags, splinters, deforms, and cracks with little use. The prices are yet another issue here. They obviously charge an unreasonable premium, especially if I'm right about their production methods.

As far as design and function go... well if what you want is in a Loaded than why let anyone stop you from riding one.

people hate loaded becaue they are overpriced and not really "THE THING" right now in the longboard world. freestyle has faded and norcal style fast freeride is now "THE THING". i personally am stoked for the DH/Freeride that they are coming out with, glad to seethey are adapting to riding styles these days

half of the haters are probably voicing their opinion to try and be like their idols,
half of them have never skated a loaded
and the other half are just hatin' on what they cannot do or cannot afford.

That's my halfbaked take on it and you can replace Loaded with just about anything.

I dont like Loaded because i rode my friend's Dervish for a day and hated it. The flex felt like it was from hell, the lack of concave made the ride feel dead and the fact I couldnt go above 25mph on it pissed me off. Im sure its a good board if your style is dancing on a deck to short to be a dancer and not much else but personally I love to go fast and thats one thing Loaded doesnt do.
ALSO I have a beef with the new freeride/DH deck. I finally got to see it be ridden and i was sorely disappointed. Their version of a freerdie/DH deck is the Bhangra with kick tails and zero flex. Thats right, they expect me to take a dancer with zero flex and kicktails downhill...i dare you to show me a more useless board.

What I don't understand is just because a product or situation does not suit your own preference, why must it then be vigorously hated? Over time that'll lead to constipation, irritable bowel syndrome or worse.

You don't like a person, place or thing, then just ignore that person, place or thing and concentrate positive vibes on what you do like. Success breeds success and hate breeds hate?

loaded is just over glorified because of its great videos. most of the loaded riders do not use the loaded boards
(well maybe the fat tail of the new dh board)
