USADSA Kicks Off 2012

2011 was a great year for the Longboard Industry, push racing set the stage and surprised the industry with a large marathon racing series, the formation and legitimization of the sport's first governing body: The International Distance Skateboard Association. In its first year of existence, it provided insurance as well as the rules and regulations that Adrenalina followed in it acclaimed Marathon Racing series that visited South Florida, New York City, Plano, and San Juan.

The USA Distance Skateboard Association formed as the National Governing Body of the sport and continues to work hard to continue to provide Skateboard Insurance to its members, education to non skaters in order to convert them, and partner with race organizers to continue to host both community and national races. The key ingredient and drive for the USA DSA is to promote and advocate the sport as a truly viable source of alternative transportation.

The USA DSA kicks of the 2012 season with a stop in Miami on March 15th during Spring Break. The event will consist of two races: a 1 mile and a 3 mile. The event is being hosted by the Dade County Fair and Exposition located next door to Florida International University's South Campus. Timing Chips will be utilized in order to qualify this race towards World Rankings in the one mile and 5km distances. Registration is available online via www.usadsa.org and includes membership and IDSA T-shirt for year round racing: $25 for one race, and $35 for both races. Be sure to register online to avoid race day registration price of $45 per race.
