    Default Longboarding Poem

So in my english class we had to write a poem or an essay or something so I chose to write a poem about longboarding. Here goes:

I scan the road, the one I know I will master
Thoroughly checking for flaws that could cause disaster
Analyzing the turns and angles and speed
Reading it all so that I will succeed
Finally finding my way to the top
I look down the mountain and my heart seems to stop
I get out of the car and open the trunk
And find just what I'm looking for in all of the junk
I can hear it calling, its calling my name
And then I step on and we become the same
Faster and faster I get up to speed
My conscience and logic I no longer need
Now I am racing on nothing but instinct
You'd probably miss me if your eyes only once blinked
I take the first turn and my wheels start to squeal
I rail it and fly and there's nothing I feel
Except the wind in my face and the beat of my heart
I know that this is my love and this is my art
I reach the bottom and slide out to a stop
Only to start walking back up to the top

haha, i like poetry. good stuff, hope you had fun writing it brady, i know you had fun getting the experience to write about.

tork --> you mean you have never met anyone who is perfect? really? i have. it's perfectly practicable..they are out there. keep looking. actually, maybe it should be "practice makes improvement". you have to admit, lots of stuff is fun to practice, perfection aside.

Good poem! and the rhyme structure would be perfect for hip-hop. You should try rapping it, it actually rolls off pretty good. Have someone beatbox a little breakbeat while you read it. And I'm not even kidding, all good rap is also good poetry, and much good poetry can also be rapped, as long as its got a good structure.

Lets all try a longboarding poem... Start with a haiku! 5-7-5...

    Sharp wind on my face,
    Sliding over rough pavement.
    Chunked my Gumballs...

    peace,
    sam

Awesome poem bro. That really rolls off the tounge. I've always wanted to write a poem, but I've never had it come out well. It always seemed choppy and uncomfortable.

I write poetry, but longboarding is the only thing I can't write about...words cannot describe it...

You came close, on that poem. Great work. Keep writing, you'll get a lot better as you write more and more.
