    Default Longboarding as it translates to the ironing

    Ok, so Spring Break is coming up (please try to refrain from witty Spring Break comments/jokes) and I'm headed home to hit the sheets. Since I havent engaged in any ironing in two years (last year wore y-fronts and hawaiian shirts instead ) and as such am probably going to be a bit rusty with the iron. I figured, hell, why not just try a longboard, since wakeboards, bodyboards and surfboards are already familiar ground. My question is- Without ever ironing a longboard before, would I be more comfortable on one having experience with other ironing boards than I likely would as a nutcase? Something about being bound to a longboard (even though ironing boards are that way) seems a little scary/odd. But I'm seriously considering hanging up the iron if ya'll think the longboard might feel more natural. Especially with how many friends' friends I've heard about being paralyzed/killed out while ironing their clothes in the bathtub lately.
    (p.s. right forum?)

    I recommend getting a mini. They are much more versatile for many applications, and travel better.

    However, much of your board decision is going to be based on the iron in question. There are some
    iron/board combinations that just perform poorly. Also, I recommend getting a board with a nice
    pad on it. Ironing against bare metal is not for the nub or faint of heart--especially if you are
    using a mini.

    It is extremely important to learn sliding right off the bat though. There are some sprays that
    will make it easier.

    remember, if your planning on ironing fast: wear your protective gear, think about your line and respect other ironers...other than that have a ball...

    as for (ironing) board choice, something reasonably stiff, don't want flex ruining your run...oh and get something nice and wide, gives you space to have fun...

    This is a very stupid post. You are trying to mock "broken only once" and are not succeeding at it. This topic is not funny at all.

    For all who don't know what he is talking about, read here. He is mocking this guy.

    Funny, but when I first read it, I was terribly confused. I thought ironing was a metaphor for something, and I was missing some extremely important information here. Possibly a life lesson or bit of info that could change my life forever. Now I see it is just a joke. Funny though

    Umm I didn't see any mockery. I saw late night goofiness. As mockery, it doesn't work. As goofiness:

    dude... no jokes! skating and ironing boards are one and the same. never use a steel frame board for carving. the steam vents just don't hold up to that kind of stress. you must trust your wood.
