Makes me sick

alright so I have to get this off of my chest and see if any of you guys have this problem. Longboarding has never really been mainstream popular in my town. I knew of a few guys who would go out and bomb hills late and night, but not many. Well Me and my friends skate a grocery store on top of a huge hill, its the perfect spot. Well a few months ago one of our friends got one of his friends into longboarding. You know those douche bags you hated in highschool? Thats them. Well this guy whose just got into longboarding gets all his friends into longboarding. Cool right? They're learning to joys of riding. Well apparently all of the girls they hang out with went out and bought longboards with daddys money. So I don't know what makes me more mad. them taking pictures with their never touched longboarding to put all over their face book and myspace with caption like "Just riding at the spot. Gnar!" or that they clog the one good spot we have to skate. I don't know how many times I've ate the ground because they'll cut out in front of you on the hill riding on their butts with like three of them on a board. I don't know i guess its the whole poser factor kicking in or that my fav spot has been invaded by noobs, stuck up noobs. What do you guys think? Ever have a problem like this?

i say start a fake facebook and rag on them or pull a slim and say theyre not hardcore

there are people like this in every sport or activity. you just have to realize that they are not real and not to worry about it because they will soon be gone posing in some other cool thing. hopefully base jumping with umbrellas. all im saying is just ignore them and move on because they wont stick around if theyre doing it to be cool.

If I remember correctly ..We were all noobs at one point in time. Boarding has a way of weeding out the core from the poser.. Some of these kids may progress, while the majority will fade away. Chill....That's what we do best!

Hull, skate better than they do, keep a grin on your face, hose yourself down with that Axe spray and take their womenfolk for your own. They'll be the ones crying about "that guy with our harem" and you'll be the one spreadin' the stoke and converting those women to longboard divas (when they're not feeding you chilled grapes).

Most posers are afraid to fall. so if you can get them to try something they can't do and they end up with a little roadrash they'll all run off and cry to mommy! trust me it got rid of some of the posers at my good spot the rest actually learned to ride

This is all assuming that longboarding ONLY entails downhill bombing runs, though. Ya gotta take the cruise/carve factor into account, man, otherwise I'm just a filthy, filthy poser too. And god I hope that's not the case, I know the type of people AHull's talking about and I really hope I'm not actually like them. XP

Yeah the guys I don't have a problem with. Most of them are actually pretty into it and working hard to get things like slides down ect. Its just those girls who only come to hang out with the guys. Am I allowed to post images on the forums? I need to throw up some of those pictures of them with their boards in high heels throwing up a "hang loose" with a "SoOoOo GnArLeY!!!!!111ioneone" caption under it. Ha funny enough there is actually one chick who is sick, she was going to go pro bmx but decided to go to school here at ORU first. She rips it way harder than most of the guys, ha. Its cool most of the time but then others I'm just like "...damn...shes good"
But yeah you guys are right, if there just doing it to be trendy they'll fade away soon. I'll just spread the stoke to everyone and see who sticks around.

Yea that was more or less what I was gunna say, if they can't hang they get injured and quit riding, if they hang you got yourself a capable thing.

One other thing to add, since you know, teach...

If you want to see a seriously over saturated waste of longboarding flesh, try hitting the Mission Beach Boardwalk, you will prolly see 20+ longboarders, not a one of them can carve a hill or even push properly for that matter. Try to teach them, if they don't want to learn then lamentations await you..
