here's a burn test of ONE of the thrusters. The board is loaded with a five-six pound brick and is pointed up a mellow incline. As you can see, the engine provides enough thrust to move the board roughly 2-3 inches up the hill before it peaks and returns. Since we were testing thrust, we didn't use our ignition system, or our wiring mounts. This is just a test..

this is about as simple as rocketry gets before you need to understand physics . (which means its perfect for me)

Re: Rocket Board >:)
Hi! I actually used to do model rocketry, and I have thought about this in the past. Unfortunately, Estes only goes up to E motors, but you can get up to H without a licence. Here's a great site for high powered model rocketry: AeroTech Web Site. I hope this helps you out. It might be cheaper overall to get a re-usable casing and the materials, because otherwise, you're looking at like $20 every time you bomb. Also, you might have to look into this, but the ejection charge (opens the parachute by sending a charge in the opposite direction to blow the nose cone off) might cause a problem, in the form of pushing the board in the other direction, and send you flying off, but I don't think it'll be too big of a deal. Have lots of fun, and wear a helmet.
