    Default good pumping board

Hey everybody, Im new , first post.
I need your advice on a deck. Ive gotten into doing some pumping,, its mostly flat where I live on the gulf coast, and this is a fun way to skate the flat stuff.
I need to stay around 75.oo bucks. I weigh about 215,, I know gotta lose some. But what board would be good for me for pumping? And general longboard riding? Like I said I wont be doing much downhill, Only way to do that around here is a parking garage or something similar. Right now Ive got a sector 9 pintail with some c7 trucks I just got. But my other board is a solid oak wood board I made resembling a a vanguard. I have reg. longboard trucks and cant pump it. Im not sure if you can pump a solid deck.

Any advice greatly appreciated. Steve -- Irish

if you get a solam set up with rts/rtx trucks ............put the stable truck in the back and de-wedge them then put the turny truck in front and wedge it like 15 or 20 degrees.....you'll find that the stiffness of the board really dose not affect the ability to pump (at least on this kinda set up) but on my vanguard once i got better at pumping i was able to use the flex to get a little more umph out of my pumps.......but if you dont have a slolam set up i would highly recommend you try one out.....i dont compete and my board is actually broke right now but if you wanna have a genuinely fun ride that you can pump up hill try one out........they may seem a bit small for a "long boarder" but trust me they have big, grippy, smooth, fast wheels and most will turn on a dime.....truly easy to pump and a delight on flat ground

well the fullbag HS model would be a good option...pm Mig on here to get more info, i do know that all the fullbag slalom models run $85, so if you can float the extra 10, definitely go for it. also i know ton on here has a fullbag HS so pm him for questions and reviews and stuff
yes, an uber-grippy, square-lipped slalom wheel IS the best for sliding

    Hello irish,

as far as pumping on the gulf coast goes i have alot of respect for that. With there being hardly any hills that is probably quite a workout! With the 75.00 limit you cant do as much as i would recommend but you do have some viable options. First thing that i would recommend is that you do lose some weight...not in a mean way but the less weight you are putting on the board the harder and faster you will be able to make your cuts while pumping. The sec 9 board is a sweet board but im not sure that is the board for you. You might want to try a 36 super g but instead of the slalom deck order it with a speed board style deck to give yourself more maneuverability. The geezer X bennetts trucks are amazing and work well with this style of board. Try out the kripgrip slalom wheels and if those dont work then try the 60mm sergios. These are the best for the money that your are willing to spend. All of this setup will work well for you, but it will ride even better if you lose, say, 15-20lbs. Plus youll feel a whole lot better! I hope this advice helps and be careful about some of the advice you get from the members of this forum. I read some of their replies to questions and they seem to be just making stuff up. Not dissing anyone--but just be careful whose advice you take. If your unsure of something you can always address a post to me and i will give you my humble opinion!

Sweet rides and keep your pride!!

Apparantly, www.milehighskates.com is putting together pumping completes based on the S9 Trylam that'll be out sometime this week. I'm guessing these completes will be relatively inexpensive. I recommend you e-mail mark@milehighskates.com and ask him about it.
