    And here's another...

It'd be real interesting to see a line graph of the ages of SF members. My theory is that there would be a couple of humps on it: one at the low end and another at the high end --a generation gap caused by the interference of work and family during the 30's and late 20's.

I had an amusing talk with my brother in law this weekend. He's having a self-diagnosed midlife crisis and he's buying a high-end BMW motorcycle to cure it. I felt a little inadequate explaining that I'd bought a $200 skateboard to take care of mine. The reason was the same: We're looking for that feeling of carefree flow and total freedom from responsibility that one gets riding around.

Like your bro in law I may be having my mid life.. Ive lost 20 #'s,, started surfing more, {when our crappy waves allow} eating different.
Like Im starting over ,, which is a good thing , I have a 11yr old daughter to raise.
My first 2 wives almost wrang the fun out of me but Ive got it back!!

Skateboarding and when I can ,, surfing make it easier to go home and face doing the yard and stuff. It gives me something as a outlet.

Knowing later I can go have fun with my kid ,, or by myself.

Dang,, forgive me but I even bought a Ripstick . I learned how to carve on it but after about 2 weeks , I realized I was gonna kill my self on that thing. Sold it to a young guy.

I know what you're saying, Irish. Having that outlet --just a little bit of time that's mine and nobody else's-- makes it much easier to face rest of life. And I enjoy playing with my boy more when I've had my playtime, too.

Good job with the weight loss. That's exactly the poundage I need to get rid of. I figure if I lose that much, it'll make skating more fun and help keep it off.
