Default Campus Cruiser on a Flat Campus

Any suggestions for a good setup on a board that would be used at a flat campus? I'd like to have a kicktail but it's not necessary. I'd just like it to be more portable than my full size boards and be able to handle rough/bumpy surfaces. Thanks!

I like the lbl humu, landyachtz dingy, custom made board ( glue 2 skateboard from walmart together for 10 bucks) and make a shlong board. Ummm flexdecks are good too.

Obviously because of portability smaller boards are great, examples being the LBL Humu, and the Flexdex Grenade 23. For flatland pushing a lower profile such as a dropdown or dropthru is nice as well. Some have recommended the Landy Spud because it is a shorter length board and it is a dropped deck.

when the school years rolls around again, i'm swapping out my soft gumball wheels for my harder gravity slide wheels... they're much faster on concrete... and faster means less work for me going to class doesn't require a butter-smooth ride

ride now my deck is setup for bombing hills... for campus cruising i'll put some softer bushings in and flip my back hanger back to the stock position for that extra carvyness

edit: oh yeah, if you're not bombing any hills, you might wanna look in to getting some revenge trucks. they're great for flatland people dodging. #### you can practically make 90° turns with em

Something low for pushing... Spud? Drop-wedge? Or, a superglider with indy 169's.

A slalom board would be a great idea, short yet fun to ride.

Make a shlongboard, small, and low, best of both worlds. set it up with some contentional trucks or randal dh/150 hangers (the 160mm hangers constrict bushing movement too much, you never get a carvy feel with them) and some 70mm wheels and you have yoursel the ultimate campus cruiser.

Call me insane, but I bought a Bustin Complex with Seismics and Krypto Classics for a commuter board. It's like a drop deck but not, it's definately alot lower than my buddy's Landyachtz Bamboo board with Randall 180s on it, but not a true drop deck. His board with the Randals on it rides like butter though. Mine rides like butter with a little bit of pop!

And just a note about length. My board is 41", my buddy's is 38", and neither of us have any trouble carrying them around to class. Neither of us put them in lockers though, we just lean 'em up by the door while we're in class. So unless a locker is a neccessary evil, don't feel like you HAVE to go really short. Unless you want to, you know

I've always pondered creating a half shlong board. The front utilizing longboard style wheels/trucks, the back with skateboard style. Although the back would be mounted lower, the larger size of the front gear would make it pretty much even. You'd have a front end to gobble cracks and a back to kickturn with. oh is it fun to ponder

    I like the unicycle. lol

Ummmm, I wouldn't know exactly, but would something like a shlongboard be good? Wouldn't be too small and hard for cruising around campus, and it wouldn't too big and hard to take around with you.

Butter dude, I love it. My feet fall into the exact right place on the board every time. It's kinda-turny with Seismics, which I like cause I'm a bit of an unstable person. It's a great mellow hill slasher, I feel really comfortable digging into corners with my setup, except I have to change up my technique a little bit because I keep starting to semi-drift when I turn hard on my toeside, I think I'm cranking my back foot out too hard. Anyway. Board's flexier than I'd expected, I was expecting a brick. In no way as flexy as a loaded, but I'm pretty sure I could crank the center of the deck down to the pavement if I really tried (I haven't nor want to, but it's probably possible.) I might pick up some used Randals and try them on for size, just to see which I truly like better, but I can't praise the board enough, it's schway for sure.
