So, I am riding MAX (lightrail) home from work this morning and the whole ###### IKEA store grand opening is today so everything is screwed up so I get stuck at Gateway TC for about 15 minutes. I have noticed this pedestrian/bike path nearby before but never explored it. So naturally (I always take my board to work) I go for a cruise. Immediately I have to keep a foot on the ground because the hill steepens quickly and I don't know where it goes or what is up ahead. I round a corner and it's just one long, continuous downhill slope for a long way down right next to (but of course completely separate from) the freeway. I need to figure out exactly where it goes and whether it is safe to bomb but once I confirm this it will be a SICK ride. Really fast but I could carve it with the Vanny. I imagine a DH sesh would be unreal. It's also SMOOOTH concrete like a sidewalk. The only problem is the cracks like a sidewalk but it's not too bad. Go check it out if you are in the Portland area. Burnside and 99th Ave.
Also, has anyone ridden the garages at Providence Medical Center? I've heard about OHSU but never Providence. I always see that brand new one as I go by on MAX but haven't gone to check it out yet. For some reason I'm a little more tentative about going to a hospital to skate their garages (but I'll do it of course!).
Remember, garage session tomorrow, meet at 3rd and Alder downtown at 6:00 PM.
