Default Motion BigFish for heavier riders?

I recently weighed myself and I'm up to 250lbs. I've been looking for a while for a board with some good flex for carving and pumping. The Motion Bigfish looks pretty tasty, but I talked to the owner of Motion and he said no one near my weight had tested the BigFish before it was released, and he's not sure how it'd perform for me.

Are there any riders around my weight who have tried this board? I also checked out the Nicotino, but found it a bit too stiff for what I was looking for.

    Thanks.

I'm a sprite compared to you and the BigFish is pretty flexy under my 235lb. Are you seeking a flexy deck? In a pintail, especially at your weight, this will translate to torsional flex when you turn it... You're at the outer reaches of the design envelopes and might find you're best suited to a custom build if you really want flexy w/o "breaky".

I'm looking for something with a bit of flex. I've been considering a Vanguard, but the flex 1 feels like a trampoline underfoot. The BigFish looked good because it's almost 10 inches wide (good for my foot size), and I've heard it referred to as the 'Vanguard Killer'.

A custom build, you say. I'll look into that. Is there a specific builder you'd recommend?

Yeah. Actually, I think Gareth Roe is backlogged/back-ordered right now, so I'd certainly add Longboard Larry into the mix. Ole LBL can produce a board strict to the big fella's spec, as can Chicago, & Insect. I just ran into Subsonic at Maryhill but didn't hear much from them about their customs program.

Hope Garth isn't too backlogged, I just ordered a mermaid a week ago and he told me 2 weeks

I'd consider it, if the sentence you wrote didn't give me such a headache.

If you're looking for a custom with flex try an Insect, I have a couple of custom Subsonic's also and they are great boards but they don't have the flex that the Insect has. The 2006 Bigfish had the best flex out of any board I've had with lot's of POP, but I only weigh 185. I have an Insect Dragonfly that comes pretty close just a bit softer, and I have a Insect Pintail on the way that is going to be stiffer so I'm hoping to get that magic flex that the Bigfish has. Give Steve at Insect a call and he'll hook you up with what you're looking for, that is the great thing about a custom.

200lb.Will it be too flexy? Should I go with the Nicotino, instead? I got a flexy Dervish already. Looking for a do-it-all pintail.
    BUMP!

no, at the longest holes it feels like a flex 2 vanguard. At the short ones its around a supercharger. Im 200lbs and love mine to death. WOODCORE ONLY

    No pictures you freak! :P 6.1" 200lbs.

Got a flexy deck already (Dervish Flex 1). Want something different, stiffer! A pintail. All-round, do-everything board. BigFish or Nicotino?

    Thanks in advance!
