Hi there, currently living in the UK and after months of deliberating over my first board setup I decided to go with (and am completly set on):
Earthwing Superglider
Indy 149's
Bennet Alligators
Plus the usual bearings risers etc
However, as far as i can see it would be easier and cheaper for me to smuggle 2g of crack and a panda into the country then lay my hands on any of this hardware. I have had one company quote me $250 + to ship this stuff, I know that the package isn't exactly small but I'm pretty much certain that it wouldn't cost taht much.
If anyone knows of a UK stockist, or a site in the US that has low-ish delivery prices (being a student, and struggling to pay the rent as it is) because I am dying to get out there and skate!!!!
eBay is a good place to buy stuff. I mean I've gotten alot of stuff from there at low prices and low shipping costs, and I live in Holland, so... yeah! Enjoy!
I think the only way you're going to get that deck over here is to have it shipped from America. However, the wheels and hardware I CAN help you with. Check out apollo11shop.co.uk, I order from them usually and they seem like a good bunch of guys. They have the bennett alligator and indy 149s in stock, so hurrah!
I know they sell earthwing drifters as well, so you might be able to get them to order in a superglider then they get some more drifters for slightly cheaper.
ZAMMO!
EDIT: By the way, where in the uk are you at? If you're in the south east, come for a skate!

Yeah I have considered many things, I do know people in the US.
However as for Lush Longboards, I'm sure that they are great guys but even if i did have to pay extortionate delivery prices, I would probably still get more for my money by shipping in from the U.S.
Currently Living in Southampton \o/ , probably gonna try what gav suggested first
Try making your own longboard.
Or, you could get a skateboard and some angled risers, THOSE are fun.
Put the trucks on the angle of the board. I've tried where the trucks usually
go, the thing always does into a manual and the trucks are too close together.
Have fun though!~
Hmmm on Solid Skates delivery calculator, they quoted me $160 - but maybe they can cut me a better deal.
As for building my own board i don't really have the time or the expertise, something i would like to do though one day.
I have looked over lush hundreds of times, but after talking to several people on this forum I came to a conclusion on the setup in my first post because it is perfect for what I want to do, the right shape and size especially.
Thanks for all your suggestions so far I am waiting on a couple of replies from various sites etc

Disregard the quote you get from their shipping calculator, it`s tied to UPS and that`s not an option for international sales really. Just send them an email with what you want, and they will calculate shipping with USPS.

uhh...i work for UPS and we ship stuff internationally much much bigger than a longboard every single night. i just calculated shipping online on the USPS website and they figure for 6-10 day delivery it should cost around 35-55 bucks for shipping. sooo...going from what the superglider complete costs on MHS, that'd run you $200-255, just like the company told you. it'll cost someone about the same thing to buy it for you and ship it. UPS will be around the same cost too

I thought that MHS stopped doing international delivery... correct me if i'm wrong
they did. i'm just using the price of mark's superglider set-up as a rough estimate of the cost of this guy's set-up

If you read the OP`s post again, you`ll see he was quoted 250+ for shipping....(UPS)
That is 250 bucks in shipping costs. Get it?
could be, or it could be total cost. it's not really stated clearly and could possibly be $250 total shipping AND board.
any clarification from the poster?

No I was quoted $250 just for the shipping, that didn't include the price of the parts.
It is all possible just not as cheap as I need it to be right now, so instead of waiting to get paid (again) gonna go with a complete from Earthwing (everything I want just not the wheels) and get them at a later date.
I figure any longboard is better than no longboard

GEEZ dude that's insane! at least, like you said, you're getting any board at all!
have fun with that, it's a great board. glad we could all help a little bit
