I'm glad I stirred this up, I wonder how my oak flex 2 vanguard would handle this mod. I think I am going to have to try it. Is the pointy nose critical? I'd prefer rounded if it did not make a difference.

Well PavedWave did it originally with the Oak Vanny(I think).

    Check out the picture:

I'm sure if you rounded off the nose it would be fine.

Yeah, I know Pavedwave started the whole cut the vanguard into a LDP deck idea, I just meant this thread. It had been idle for a couple of months before my first post in it. I'd seen pavedwave's cut down vanguard, and wondered if others had tried it or not. Until your pictures, and the ones from the guy in Germany, I had not seen any others.

I'm glad you tried it, and like it. I got a bit of a negative feel from pavedwave's reaction to his experiment, but that was probably just my take on it. Comparing a cut down vanguard to a production Subsonic pulse could do that I would guess. I'm guessing the cut down vanguard is at a least as good as my flowboard deck LDP, if not way better. BTW, have you ridden a pulse? It would be great to hear some comparison between the two.

It's 2 years old, and other companies started coming out with LDP specific boards. That's what happened.
