My buddy decided he wanted a longboard too after watchin me ride. He didn't want to spend alot of cash so he with with a Krown Complete Deck. It had nameless trucks, crappy rubber wheels that have some sort of plastic rim and cheap plastic risers. After 3 days of riding it the back right wheel lost a big chunk of the cheap rubber the center bolt on the front truck snaped while cruising down by the sea wall. he probably got about 6 hours of ride time on it. Needless to say i would advise not to buy Krown Completes. Here are some pics to show you what I'm talkin about.
That's pretty bad. It sucks that your friends first experience had to be as lousy as that. Don't let your friend be discouraged so easily. Keep riding and make sure he knows that he needs to spend the money if he wants a good return on his investment.

Why did ever let him buy that crap. some friend you are.

if i would have seen what he was about to waste his money on i would have stopped him. he ordered it one night on a whim. i think he was drunk. or at least thats the excuse i would use if i bought a Krown. "I SWEAR I WAS DRUNK!"
I actually currently own a Krown, and seems to ride nice, though it's stock trucks feel a bit sloppy when loosened. How well would Randall 180s work on it? (Been thinking of trying them out on a larger board just to see how it rides, but too lazy to find out myself)
How much more turny would they be as opposed to having Randals on my Flexdex? (I know that having risers, and wider deck would definitely give more leverage) I pretty much want to get back to riding the Krown as it's been collecting dust, and I have just started learning how to cross step on it the other day I pulled it out...but the turning felt 'floppy' with the nearly plastic bushings and loose trucks/rattling washers.

yeah, even if you wanna be mega cheap even just upgrading the bushings would improve a fair amount

Just made the switch, which felt like forever...I eliminated the risers as they kept causing the board to lift on the sides. I put conventional skate trucks onto the flexdex c29 for a more 'proper fit', and found that it's a bit easier to steer. I guess I'll find out more how they both ride tomorrow evening when I get off work, but the krown is tons better with randals on it.
