so, why not start jumping down someones throat?they want to point out that a company is saying something under false pretenses and is only trying to move product as opposed to trying to better the planet? i think that you might want to read between the lines of the article.

I don't care if anyone cares. I just think it's funny when people post up "who cares". It almost doesn't make sense. They're free to post whatever they want, but I'd like to see why they post it up in the first place. People are obviously voicing some concern over how a company is false-advertising. Makes sense to me. Other people are being deceived by the company, and the guy wants to make it clear that this is how the company is. Seems perfectly logical to me.

S9 selling their souls...

They have existed longer than most of you nubs have been skating period. They ARE the reason most of you longboard, myself included. How is a company that makes quality products (yup I said it!) selling their soul because two (yes count them two) of their team riders are friends with Hank III and attended the filming of a music video?

Besides, I have it on official word that they used only recycled mud in the video. How green is that!

If you find the perpetuation of such hypocrisy to be so awful, then why did you contribute to it by spreading it here? That's like stepping in dog crap while walking through your neighbors' yard and then tracking it into your house to show everybody how poorly trained your neighbor's dog is. You could easily have just stayed off the lawn and kept your shoes clean.

most environmentalism has an actal adverse effect to the environment... it is all for publicity and sales, anyone that thinks otherwise is naive. so just get over it all ready, and study what the actual truth is behind what you are taught in school. very much harm has been done to the environment by people acting quickly to try and solve a problem that isnt even proven to exist with methods that are far from proven to work. for instance the use of bamboo isnt actualy friendly becuase of the epoxy used, and how far it hs to be shipped... or think back to the 70s whenused tires were used to recreate a recieding reaf... we are now trying to pull out those tires because they killed all the fish in that area... so please remember that it is all marketing until something is actualy proven by using the scientific proces that so many scientists seem to have forgotten... they jump from hypothosys to fact quiet quickly these days.. so take your time here and think of what good it would have done for them to not be in the music vid.. does it really matter...

Mc99david i must agree w/ most of what you said. Like agriculture and bringing in foreign insects to control one population and creating a whole new problem. Good point! But S9 already has a horid rep (anyone been to surf expo besides me? i can think of one word everytime i went to the s9 booth..degenerate anyone?) and not promoting backlash of their own "cause" by contradicting would be nice, but is completely not expected of this representation. Stringtheory, your an idiot. I only buy groceries because wal mart has inspired me.. same as your analogy of why YOU longboard bc of S9. And just to inform you, there was no S9 in the 80's when I and a TON of ppl on this forum first stepped foot on a skateboard. S9 started in 1993 in La Jolla. So you need to rethink your whole string theory on that one bc skating started in the 90's ya know... Well im out, i GOT to go eat Mickey D's because they ARE the reason i started eating lunch.

I, PERSONALLY, think its hypocritical for sector nine to write about how they got a big dick over seeing gas-guzzling trucks. Especially since they recently subscribed to the environmentalist image which they are capitalizing on.

Does this mean I care? I'm not going to write them a letter or anything. But it does make me personally dislike sector nine a bit more (I already have a natural repulsion to things everyone else does/has whether that be warranted or unwarranted).

Bro, first of all, no need for name calling. You just lowered yourself in front of every one. Second, I started skating in 1985, I'm 33. I've been skating for 23 years, longboarding 8+ years. You on the other hand are 24 and claim to have skated in the 80's? You were 5 in 1989. Not to split hairs here, but come on dude...lol.

Back on track, any one who actually longboarded prior to the 21st century will indeed tell you that S9 was one of few long board companies that existed. The scene was much smaller and the choices were much more slim. If you can't understand that companies like Gravity and S9 and Dregs are the reason that many, many, many people here longboard, I don't know what to tell you.

Here's what I suggest. Keep biting the hand that feeds you, shake your fist at the so called "sell outs" like S9, and in a few years when longboarding goes into another down time (yes skatings popularity comes in waves, I've seen a few in 23 years

) you can remember with fond memory when there were a few hundred nitch companies who don't exist any more. But I guaranfingtee you, S9 will still be there. Are they my personal first choice? Not by a long shot, but you have to give credit where credit is due.

Now, go eat your Mic D's and enjoy the negative rep I gave you for calling me an idiot, and proving you can't debate worth a damn. By the way, you make the worst analogies I've ever seen, they are closer to chop logic. Peace "Brah." =D

im sure s9 will stand the test of time and will get many more people into skating...but that doesnt change the fact that they posted a story with a dude who has a lynching shirt on and a bunch of rednecks who #### up our trails* while they promote environmentalism....
