In your scenario of a perfect world, no one could sustain themselves selling just boards, lest they become "sell outs." Think about this, Brian from Earthwing just quit his day job this year after making boards for 9 years! That's almost a decade! So what, now he's going to be a sell out too because he wants to expand and be successful, live the dream and make boards for a living? I think it's every small time board builders dream to have a business solely based on skating and be able to reap a living from it. People like you who think they are part of some exclusive community pour poison in peoples ears about any company that has expanded and become self sustaining. S9 was one of the first, so naturally in your eyes, they suck right? Forget about the money they've put back into skating. The sponsorships, the swag to give away at contests. Allowing skaters to be sponsored and skate for a living. Yup, forget all that, all that matters is that you met them at a trade show and decided they were "degenerates." The joke is, you've said it multiple times and haven't even said why they are degenerates! With the mouth on you and the name calling and now threats, guess what? YOU look like the degenerate here, not them fool! By the way what have you done to grow the scene? Blabbed your ridiculous mouth on the net? You have a childish BS jealous view of the world.
