sell a board that might not be as popular as another in your lineup? I know! We'll make a video of an idolized skater ripping on it. Then we will post it in front of 1000 impressionable teens with expendable income. But we can also get front page coverage on a very influential website. Hmmm, sounds like a recipe for success! Hell it worked last time.....

this forum is all about skateboards, not skateboarding.
some of the people on here think having a dozen skateboards makes them better skaters. so why not sell something to them?
nice vid though, colton has flowing style. chins 360 boneless at the end was sick.

well i think that has be proven time and time again
that even if there are better suited and better performing decks out there, that if you can get a so called "Icon" on one and get a video for it, kids and people in general will buy into it and buy it on the premise of hey if i get that board/product i can be just like ________ (insert obligatory name here).
Think about how many decks/products that has been used for.
Now we just need to wait and see a hammerhead video
Saying all that, would i use those same tactics for myself, you bet i would, but i think there is a bit of a difference in i actually strive to make awesome decks, because "I want too" not just as a way to earn some cash like alot of companys out there are doing.
You know where they really don't care about skating or what they say they care about anymore, but instead its just a business venture for them.
But i wont name names because everyone has there own opinion on whos like that and thats for yourself to figure out, and if you actually care or not about people in the socalled "Biz" being in it for the reasons they should be.

on topic though didn't that video come out like a month ago??? I seem to remember being impressed with the skating mostly because I don't like the board

If you're not buying the board who cares. If you don't like the board it doesnt matter a bunch of impressionable people that are to lazy to research a bunch of boards before buying are going to buy that board whether you like it or not.
Uhm, I know this might be a pretty way out call, but I'm pretty sure you're supposed to promote the company that sponsors you when you're a team rider...give him (and loaded) a break.
I own a lot of boards, but none of them are really super popular except for maybe my kracked skulls.
More related to the thread: I think it's cool promoting boards to show how they should be ridden but It's so ridiculous that people feel the need to buy them just because they see someone shred them harder than they can. Good point.
you have to remember, adam does ride for loaded, and i'm sure that's what part of his job is: making videos to promote loaded decks. he showed the longboarding community what's possible on a board that is (pretty much) looked down upon. hell, i thought the loaded fish was useless until i saw the vid.
i will agree with the fact that hundreds of kids will buy the fish because of the video, but i'm sure some of the maybe more experienced will buy it because they see what the board is actually capable of
