I'll be honest, I've had this one since 2003...the only issues I had were the obvious o2 sensor and mass air flow sensor. Both were warrantied and no trouble since. Other than that, 3 sets of window regulators, and a few blown diverter valves. I think I was one of the lucky people though...I've read lots of horror stories over the years at vwvortex.

Sounds like you've got all the same problems as everyone else. Timing belt yet?

Haha did my belt when I ripped off my oil pan and bent my subframe like 10k ago (she only has 80k)....figured they had it ripped apart, good opportunity. Lol...my tranny is starting to go though finally.

Now I could make a pretty big list of problems with my Vr6's and my 16v digifarts, as well as my 8vs...but I'm sure you know all the issues already. Lol...

That's why you convert to CIS.
My friend has an 85 golf, with an engine out of a 97 jetta (2.0), and CIS injection. It's awesome.

I know it's not much, but I just had to join in with the bandwagon and... I finally got my Mystery Model! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

The anticipation of half a year--MUTHAHELL--and a wait of 3 months--****ING CRAP! Talk about the letdowns, saving up, timing discounts, the sad image of all the parts just waiting to be slapped on the pretty stringer deck--all worth it.

This board is zick. I can't believe I actually own the board I always stare at on Silverfish and on the Earthwing site.

    Thank you Jesus! Brian too!

It's funny you say that, a skate rack and a back protector are my next purchases. Which Back Protector are you getting? I'm thinking of a Timeship one.
