Or you could get a Subaru STI or WRX and switch out the turbo downpipe, have faster acceleration, and the same top speed. Plus everyone I've ever known with a Mitsubishi has had problems, they call em Mitsubitchy. That said, the new Evos are cool looking.

i actually had a WRX with an EJ25 STI engine swap and they are actually more difficult than the evo. and if you feel like modding the wrx/sti your gonna be emptying you wallet alot more and having alot of problems because horizontally opposed engines are a bitch to work on .

that said, subaru DOES have a lot better crash safety rating than the evos do...

and my sister has a white EVO X with the SSS package, very nice cars

My buddy has a lancer and it's fine. That being said he got it brand new and it's only a year old, so we'll sdee in a few years. I love Evo's though... so nice.

Hmm, that's surprising, I have known 4 people to have WRXes, 2 stock and 2 modded, and none of the four ever have problems. Though the stuff definitely does cost more. I'd a 1998 240sx with an SR20DET swap in it though . Swap out the stock turbo for a Garrett with journal bearings and prepare for domination.
