Ive also been wearing the all star rip offs, airwalks. Except they are the Hi's. I really dig the board feel and was gonna get some Vans sk8-hi's but didnt feel comfortable at all in them, so I picked up some for real chuck taylors today. Love em for skating.
O ya and 25 bucks? I got my airwalks for 30 for the first pair, and 15 for the second.

Must have dropped a pretty penny on this. Even though Nikon is better
I'm waiting to drop my money on the 14-24mm Nikon. Too many pennies for me at the moment though.

Re: post your latest purchase
I want to get a DSLR so bad. I just don't know what to go for. Are used camera's a smart purchase? or is buying it new a much better idea? I don't want save 200 to 300$ on a used camera, if its a bad idea. I am stuck between Nikon and Canon, however, I think I am leaning more towards the Canon side. Every Magazine I see of photo's, its always Canon photo's making the page.
Also any referrals on which is a good DSLR to start with for a semi-beginner. I am going to take a photography class in in January. I like to shoot scenery, and I also would like a camera thats good for sports photography, and something that would be good for shooting a modeling portfolio.
Thanks for your time guys.

Re: post your latest purchase
Nikon vs Canon....years ago I was a camera repairman....so what I have to say is from a maint POV. There is little difference between two camera's of equivelant price points....Lens wise Canon's are usually a year or two ahead of Nikon and Nikon's are a little more durable than Canon's but only just and not something that anyone but a pro is gonna notice. Everything but the prolevel is using CMOS chips now so the only difference is glass and to some extent speed of a camera's electronics. I started life as Canon guy but switched to Nikon when I went digital in the mid 90's Nikon was better then though that has changed.

what I like about Nikon is that every nikon camera I pick up (excluding the F4) has all the controls in the same place....what I like about Canon is that they push the envelope in functionality
