I thought the same thing but my D300 and 17-55 just sits in the closet. =P It NEVER comes out. A D700 does high ISO so well that it gives you so much more freedom that you won't mess with the D300 anymore. I'd only consider taking it out in bright sunlight when I know I need the extra reach of the crop sensor.

I take my D300 out sometimes because I like the sound of the shutter..

Yes Im rocking the D300 but the nice thing about this is that instead of being a 200mm lens i get the extra reach giving me 300mm All my lenses are FX I also have a 24-70mm f2.8 . Next year Im planning on picking up an FX body and make my d300 my backup.

Its not a paint job, its fabric pressed unto the bottom of the board and covered with a very high quality finish

5 skeins? pfffftt! I use more than that just making bullieghans. What I make aren't your little airy light weight shawl type things. double strand, double crochet backstitch. I've made a number of them bigger than that. They have to fit me which means I can pull it over my head and it'll be well past the end of my feet.

This is a pink camo I made for this lady (I say that loosely) in DC last year. It's about 1/3rd done.
