 COMPLETED: First Ever Across China Longboard Mission
Just a quick note to let people know that I just a few days ago (28th Sep 2008 ) finished longboarding across China. No support vehicles, alone, entirely by longboard.

This is also the end of my 12,000km (7,550 mile) solo and unsupported longboard journey that began in Switzerland in June 2007.
I can say that if anyone is thinking of doing any kind of journey travelling by longboard, you should do it. It is an experience that will change you, challenge you, and you will never be the same again.

Just... phenomenal. I bet that took a long period of training? Very nice man, I think a travel like that would really open your eyes to the different world.

Nope, no training whatsoever. When you know that you're going to be on the road for a year, then there is absolutely no need to train. All your 'training' happens in the first two weeks of being on the road.

I'd love to do that, but it begs the obvious questions...
How do you pay for yourself? Even if it boils down to simply food and equipment maintenance - How? And don't you have any bills at home? Damn mortgages... 
And I'm sure every so often a "real' bed and probably some showers pretty often would help to encourage support for you on the road, lol...
You must have had sponsors? How did they support you?

geole--- i think you do this before the job, the kids, and the mortgages!! i figured this out 12 years and 9 months too late 
which is why these videos are awesome, we can experience this all vicariously. i'm still blown away by how much Rob was able to shoot, edit, and post video all the way through.
