I always hear people flamin them, but im from Hawaii and we dont have any. Im visiting Portland right now and i went to one. The clothes is good but what was really good was gullwing chargers on sale for $14 a piece. not my fav trucks but thats a real good price for new trucks. would cost $50-60 a set home. shoots
zumiez SUCKS. went into 1 only once.
I hated the poser sales people, who knew nothing about skating.
seemed like a fashion fad store that will fade out like most poser shops.
what is more disgusting is they sell the sec9 kommi for 199.00 ,50 bucks more then mhs.
guess cause we gotta pay for the elegance of there mall presence .
i dont think zumiez sucks
yea its filled with mainly people that have never even stepped on a skateboard
but the people workin there are pretty chill and like they know what there talkin about for the most part

everything is probably tourist price in Hawaii..
people flame zumiez for various reasons...
part of it has to do with the dominating sector9
and that zumiez is a mall chain..
my local zumiez don't carry much longboard parts, just completes.
I go in there to get shoes,
they have shoes on sale often...
regardless, zumiez have done a lot to make longboarding popular,
they always display them in their front window...

somehow, they don't carry any park boards....
Damn right on that shoes thing, I used to buy their "on sale" shoes (like a month out of style or something) for 30-40$ at most. The zumies near where I used to live had shortboard parts mainly (and completes), but had a few s9 ones.
It seemed more populated with the indie hipsters as employees rather then skaters, but they were allways cool to chill with and helpful when they could be.

Yeah, by me they suck. Not only are the sales people trained to say, "yeah that's sick, right?" Every time you touch anything. But, I was also kicked out for standing on one of their boards in the shop. Not riding it. Merely standing on it to feel the flex.
Zumiez.... Sounds like a fruityish candy..... Mmmmmmmm...Zumiez

I was also kicked out for just standing on a board. Lame.

We don't have a Zumies here that I am aware of. We have a place in the mall called Cosmic, that link and this is all I can find about it online. I like it. I buy t-shirts there for cheap all the time (like $5) on sale and I got my favourite hoodie (Emerica Kingpin) there for $7.50 on clearance. Score, indeed. They have tons of decks and stuff in there, and a decent selection of bearings, wheels (even longboard wheels - mostly Bennet), trucks, etc. They are higher priced than online of course though but at least there is something there. The local shop (Sterling Skates) in Mt. Sterling doesn't have as large as an inventory, is higher, and only carries shortboarding stuff.

zumiez does kinda suck, sometimes you can get a good price on some clothes or somethng but i went to one near my house to pick up a skate tool and when i asked the sales person where there skate tools were he handed me a snowboard tool and told me that was what i needed, so i just decided #### it ill drive the extra mile and a half to an actual skate shop and pay the three extra dollars, needless to say thats probably the last time i go to zumiez
