Re: Anyone Longboard w/ Their Dog?
i just started with going out boarding with my 4 month old, 15 lb puggle (pug/beagle), and its awesome.
also, i've started getting my dog comfortable riding on the board with me and ultimately hope to get him to be able to push himself around. first we just started sitting, chilling on the board on the carpet and then sitting together out in the parking lot, then started pushing around, and hes starting to enjoy the thrill of whizzing down the street.

Re: Anyone Longboard w/ Their Dog?
My Great Dane just keeps running into me...it's kind of annoying but she loves going fast.
For her size, she's getting old now though...she's like 4 years haha. Hopefully another 5 years left

Re: Anyone Longboard w/ Their Dog?
Spent the last 20ish years walking my dogs almost daily with a board on my feet. All three were rescued German Shepherds. The madest one was Prince (I didn't name him!), G force on acceleration........... Tucked down real low into his slipstream. He was only happy if he took a police cone or house brick home in his mouth every night.
Moved into a flat a few years back and no longer own a dog, wouldn't be fair on it.
Great post though, brings back memories.

Re: Anyone Longboard w/ Their Dog?
I recently read an article by Dorian Hargrove, here, who went out with his dog WITHOUT a helmet and now lives with a broken skull and a completely different life. Just saying, for all boarders alike, remember saftey!
Why can't we all just get along...board?

Re: Anyone Longboard w/ Their Dog?
I have a 6 pound Pomeranian, named Honey. I not only found a front back pack for her, but a helmet, and very cool glasses. She's on the home page of my web site: ABK Custom Skateboards - HOME. She's not real crazy about going, but she's cool all the same. Board she's on is a 1986 Madrid Rat Fink.

Re: Anyone Longboard w/ Their Dog?
My dog doesn't pull so much as races me. He's a little 20lb beagle, and I have a bunch of mellowish hills and he loves to race me down.

Re: Anyone Longboard w/ Their Dog?
My boy Cal loves to pull me around the neighborhood. He is a 60 lb collie/lab mix with lots of energy. I put a harness on him and say, "lets go" and we take off around the block. He knows where the cats are in the neighborhood so I get little nitro boost whenever he sees one. My LY Switch is perfect so I can have to fun while he pulls me. He knows when i say slow he backs off a little unless he sees a cat. A good dog is tired dog and Cal is exhausted.

Re: Anyone Longboard w/ Their Dog?
My dog is some kinda aussie cattle mix we got at the humane society. I do not take the board when I walk her because there is not enough protective gear in the world. She tops out at 35 mph, only follows directions if there is ABSOLUTELY nothing else interesting going on and she is super impulsive.

Re: Anyone Longboard w/ Their Dog?
My 25 lb little pug just went riding with me for the first time today, and he was going nuts. We went buttboarding down a hill and he pulled me for about 3/4 of a mile to home. He's worn out but he actually is pretty helpful. I had to get out of my comfort zone and do a lot more pushing and carving to keep up with HIM.
It's crazy how much energy a pug has.
