Cool pics!!! How did your group recruit its initial members? I am trying to get some people to ride with in Des Moines. Last weekend was the first success. We had a session with three riders. Hey, its a start.

Were you able to get initial members simply by posting on SilverFish, or do you also put flyers in a skate shop, tattoo parlor, or liquor store? Do you have any backing or support from a local skateshop? Do you have standing sessions, say like 9:00 AM Sunday mornings at hill X?

I see these videos of groups that have 20+ riders show up for a session and it makes me very jealous. I would love to have half a dozen people to skate with on a weekly basis.

I started this thread because I knew there were people in Omaha on the fish. But there are also people who do not use this site. We only get 6-8 riders at the most right now.

We have not sent out flyers (yet), but the universities are the places to do it at. Even some skate shops who carry longboard stuff have kids who want to try it out. Half of the people who I ride with saw me or someone else bombin a hill and wanted to try it.

We use this thread to post sessions, but more often than not we communicate by phone. It may start as a small crew but it can only get bigger!!

Currently suffering from weather-induced dread. Could it be more depressing out? Anyways, I'm repainting my current board. It's coming out rather mediocre. I'll post pictures when I'm done.

I've been trading emails with Scott Moore from Subsonic about a 43" Buckshot. I'll probably order it in a few weeks. I'm just debating what trucks to purchase before I do that. I'd like to get a pair of Sabres, but I'll probably go for something cheaper. I'll post a picture when I get it.

Lastly, I've thrown together a few rough sketches for a logo (no color, used a few different fonts to see what they would look like, and all of them are far from a finished product). They're all on the conventional side. Let me know what you guys think.

Hey those look pretty cool! I have a pretty good hook up for screenprinting. We should get together maybe print some of that on some shirts or whatever!

Excellent MR. CROWDY!!! I really like the last design as a sticker. Great idea on incorporating the pedestrian bridge. although nebraska won't allow us to ride on their side of the bridge!!! punks. I like all of them really. We should also think of some designs for people who dance. Like Mikey C pullin mad steez!!

As far as trucks go for your subsonic, get something like bears or the randal dh race (cheaper ones).

Hey all, I don't know if any of you also skate pools and bowls (if not, you should try it). Anyways, there's a few of us old crusty guys that chat on the Old Man Army boards if you're interested. A few of us are thinking of heading over to Saylor, an indoor skatepark outside of Des Moines, on January 16 if any of you are interested.

Also, once it warms up of course, we usually get some older guys together on Saturday mornings early. The parks are pretty empty then, and you can get about as many runs as you can handle.

A pic of my paint job so far. I have to re-stencile the letters back on since I don't like the placement. It's a KMFDM Godlike theme. I can't hide my brush strokes, so it looks worse the closer you look at it.

Also, I've decided to go with the Randall DH trucks. I might switch to the Bears at the last second when I place the order tomorrow. Who knows.

Wow I'm glad I found this! I'm holding down the campus boarding scene in Lincoln. Add me on facebook, Kyle Nutter and keep me posted about group rides! I broke just about every bone in my body right before the snow flew but I am game to sketch ya'll up hills in my truck until I can ride again.
