Me and RanRye went to check them out over the weekend and they are all still really wet and full of gravel. Could be some time before we can actually get a good session in.

At this point, March looks more feasible for riding. Although, it is the midwest and it could be 70 degrees next month for all we know. Indo boarding is our outlet right now.

Re: Official Club Of Omaha Longboarders Thread
Greetings All. I haven't been on here awhile, but thought I'd see what was up. I found a nice "Ride" snowboard at a thrift store right before the Christmas storm hit for $30. I threw some bindings on it and have hit the slopes at Crescent a couple of times now. Not the same as longboarding, but it sure is fun. I highly recommend it to fight the winter blues. I'll be there bright and early on Saturday morning. Looking forward to getting back on my Rayne though. Have a good one everybody.
PS Great logo's Brian.

I am moving this weekend, but I am down to snowboard whenever after that. Drop me a line.

Honestly, this is the consistently worst winter that I can remember since I was a very little kid, and I'm 38 now. Maybe Steve can back me up on this.
On a completely unrelated note, I put my order in for a Subsonic Buckshot last night. Hopefully, I will get it in 4 to 8 weeks. There's a note on Subsonic's website that says that he is moving his workshop to a bigger location. I would think that would slow down his board building.

The sign that says "The Good Life" must have tricked you when you were driving into Nebraska. It could be worse though, you could have been a Hawkeye or Cyclone (no offense to anyone !!!
On a different note however, when it does clear up here enough to ride (no matter how cold) we should do it.
I will need to ride as much as possible before I go to Hawaii in March.

NICE!!! looking forward to seeing it. Is Delong clear enough (ice, rocks, etc) to ride?! I don't mind the freezing cold, I can wear my snowboard helmet and goggles. I got some new stuff to ride and i am fiending to go down that hill.

It's kind of in the middle--it's not horrible, but there's definitely some sand and small gravel on it. The city threw down a tar strip down the middle of the street right before the 1st snow in December. It's also not as smooth as it was; you can see little sections of waves here and there. I haven't seen any potholes yet, and, if they do pop up, they usually start near the curbs where the water runs.
I work with a lady whose husband is 2nd or 3rd in command of the parks and streets dept. in town. I'll ask her if she can find out what they plan on resurfacing this year. I'm hoping for Fairmont Park. That would be pretty sweet if it was smooth.

Re: Official Club Of Omaha Longboarders Thread
Brian is right. I was around for the 1975 blizzard which essentially shut down the city for a few days, ( I was 13 and the sledding was fantastic) but I think this year we've had more snow than any other I can recall. I see they are predicting 3" - 5" tomorrow. I am taking tomorrow off just to snowboard in it at Crescent.
That new board looks really nice Brian. I looked it up on line.
OmahaRider. Are you taking a longboard with you to Hawaii? You should get some video of you riding there.

Re: Official Club Of Omaha Longboarders Thread
You know I am bringing my longboard to hawaii with me! If I can get my tachyon helmet camera to work I will try to record as much as possible. Probably bringing the Hellcat and an extra set of wheels.
I bought a used Landyachtz DH race deck off here. I also got a really good deal from Mile High Mark on some bear grizzlys 10mm ($20!!) on his forum. I suggest looking at that on here for some wicked deals.
Crowdy, I figured Delong would get minimal damage since it is so new. But before the weather crapped out on us, me and RanRye went to Fairmont (some kids threw glass bottles on the road) and found Fairmont Lodge. Sketchy road but fun as hell. It would be nice to know what roads they plan on resurfacing (especially the ones we can ride).

Re: Official Club Of Omaha Longboarders Thread
I really looked at Delong today closely when I went to work. I'd say it was rideable. The sand was mostly at the bottom, but it wasn't bad as I had imagined. It's not in bad shape; it's just not as buttery smooth as it was. I figure that it will be good for all of this year.
As for the weather, I've seen colder, and I've seen more snow, but I've just never both over this length of time. I was looking forward to some cold weather riding. Maybe it'll break, and we'll have a nice spring.
