    Default Midwest Freerides?

I'm from the great state of Wisconsin in the good ol' USA. I am pretty new to the fish, and I am wondering if there are any freerides or any longboard groups and the like in or around this area.

I'm in Ames. ISU has some hills that aren't bad, one really nice one that i'm still afraid of bombing (really busy, pretty darn steep). A couple of parking garages.

Knoxville is pretty far south, but if there was going to be a good turn out I'd be up for it.

yes, an uber-grippy, square-lipped slalom wheel IS the best for sliding

What freeride wheels are you rolling? All the roads in my are are cement. Not the smooth skatepark cement, but more of a mediocre sidewalk cement, with lots of seams. A good portion of the seams have missing chunks, sort of mini pot holes. I have read some reviews, but I bet that those reviews were based on blacktop, not cement. Not sure it makes a difference, but I would still be interested in what freeride wheels are being used on midwestern cement.
