longboarding in Singapore
Have any fellow SF members been to Singapore? I'm interested in bringing longboarding to Singapore and I was wondering if anyone here managed to find places to longboard there.

Singapore is an experience. I visited there when i was in high school, and the one thing that sticks in my memory is how clean it is. You may want to check local laws about skating, as you do not want to get in trouble with any law officials down there. I didn't skate down there, but i remember spots in the urban areas that were mellow enough to cruise around.

Re: longboarding in Singapore
Long ,short and luge boards. I go through there once a year and usually ride with some of the locals.
I ride neighborhoods in the day and Orchard late at night when the walls of people go home.
Do check with current law though. Their's change often There is no such thing as a warning or excuse.
Also watch out for the monkeys.... they run around like squirrels
here is a video of some luge with Andrew and Steven. ABEC's were hand carried gifts from me.

Nope...no loadeds or arbors here. Only Sector 9, Gravity, Surf One, and some other brands like Toes on the Nose (Auzzie I think) and Turbo. Are you thinking of bringing them in? I hope so!
Or are you based in Singapore and looking for a longboard, or a new longboard? Let's skate!

Re: longboarding in Singapore
I do have a large gun case that my RB fits in, but I probably wont bring the luge unless I can make time to go to Malaysia to meet up with Furlong. I will bring my speedboard at least. If someone in Singapore needs a "few" wheels , trucks or what ever let me know, I can carry. I will only be in Singapore for 2 days as I am on my way to Diego Garcia and back in July.
lazarus213 Do you know Andrew and Steven? The only lugers I know in Singapore..

They should really bring in loaded boards into our neck of the woods. Only Japan has them within asia. No fair!

Can't say that I do. Would you know where they go for downhill? I actually don't know where I can go for real downhill here in Singapore, plus even if I had places to go, I don't know what the local police would do if there were to stop me

oh you're Pinoy! haha me too. and yeah, you're right...I really do wish we could get a better selection here, as it is we just have to make do with what we can get and just dream of some of the better boards out there. I'm seriously thinking of having something shipped over soon, but the thing is, since I'll be spending that much, I'd want to spend on my dream board. thing is that I can't even do that with import restrictions (can't ship in anything over 46inches)...i want the OSD. In this case though, I'm thinking I might end up shipping in the dervish if Im really jonesing for a better board that can be shipped in.
besides ladera's and s9's, what other boards can you get there in the phils?

Got some good good news! A friend contacted loaded to ask about getting in some boards. Apparently there's a guy living in Quezon City who can bring them in at 13k a pop. Wooohoo. As for other boards, i just know Whiskeyhill is also bringing in some Earthwing boards soon. (Check out this thread Philippines? Anyone?) An OSD! Nice!
