Your site's cool dude... it'd be awesome to try out your stuff... Do let me know when you make your way here. Lets do a session somewhere... Maybe we can hit some nice hills... Im still new to skating and learning how to bomb, so some big hills (i.e. la Vista or in Tagaytay) scare the #### out of me... but hey Im down for anything...

Sure, I'll mention this forum to Fred and let him know you send him your regards. His company is doing pretty well, with Havaiana's as his strongest brand. From what I know, he was a skater ever since, but over the past few years he's been getting his stoke from surfing and is always going out of town to find the best swells.

Oh so your Paolo's nephew. Way back in the day, I would get to play golf with him and Andy. My bro, Mike, was his barkada... Hmm... as for Nike & skating, not sure if it's a good match haha!...and I dunno if they'd sponsor an event,,, I do like using some of their shoes for skating though, because of the aircushioned soles (comfy when pumping)...
    I enjoy going down...

^^ ive skated in punta fuego, dont worry about the rain drain things, youll go pass em.. the interesting spots are the places going to punta fuego, up in the mountains, those are asphalt roads i believe.. theres even one with a 12% incline, there are two spots with hairpins.. gotta practice before hitting those..time to save up for a jacket of some sorts hehehhe

those spots sound good man. glad you guys like the site. there still a lot of room for improvement.

nike.. i hear they actually have a skate team. they started sponsoring riders for some reason. i wont be surprised if they come up with skate products like pads and shoes.

i remember mike. short dark dude thats really cool. i think thats him. thats what i remember when they didnt start nike yet. i might be wrong though.

as for fred, hes a natural athlete. he was good at everything. we rollerbladed a lot and played hockey. basketball, soccer, volleyball were all easy sports for him. surfing would have bitten his ass and left a big stoke so im sure thats his favorite now.

ill make sure to catch up soon. hoping to make a trip sometime this year.

hey bud. i was able to get around 250 bamboo decks from china. each cost around 600 pesos all up including shipping, taxes, etc to send to new zealand. they are flat decks( no concave) with a mild rocker. 2 shapes - 1 classic pintail and 2 is a mdern pin with a head to avoid wheelbite (similar to fibreflex pintail). i will send you photos soon just in case you are interested. they can make any shape you want. minimum for each shape is 125 decks. i thought i might send some to davao just to spread the love. would you have supply of trucks, bearing and wheels, if so, how much would a kit cost. 65 or 70mm wheels would be ideal for these decks and randal 150 or 180.

hey, hows it going? ya, the ones with the longer wheelbase wouldnt hold. the bamboo was just too thin at the time plus we were just using normal surfboard fiberglass. the shorter ones are still alive though. the bamboo decks we have now were made in china. just thought i would give it a try and see what they could come up with. here are some photos.

I'm no longer looking for a bamboo deck. I was able to source one already. At the moment we are having some problems with the glue. I will keep you in mind possibly for beta testing. Where are you located? Ridding style?
Go out, skate, and enjoy the ride.
