Quiver is extensive, so if you're looking for a new board, let me know, and I might be able to bring it with me for you. Otherwise, I'm going to try to thin my quiver down before I leave.
I've been to Okinawa twice for work, and I only just started longboarding on the second trip. I can't wait to get back to the butter smooth roads on Kadena, but I'm really excited about finding gnarly dh roads. I'm really into downhill and looking for people with experience to learn from.

KADENA! man i totally forgot how HUGE kadena is. my base blows, it's flat (except for the habu trail) and they get all pissy when we ride here. but kadena is huge and has all those nice housing roads to hit up.
Anyone else on Oki feel like hitting up Kadena?

I'm not in Japan right now.... But I spend about 2 months every year near Osaka and Nagoya (Izumisano and Okazaki to be exact).
I dont really know when will be the next time I'll go there, but probable around june... I was supposed to go there this christmas but due to the fact I am changing my canadian visa, I couldnt do it.
omfg... i lived in oki for 2 years about 6 years ago, where i started my downhill marriage haha...
theres a road called kangaroo rd, (by local marines) that has gnarly hairpin turns and its very steep, on a bicycle i hit 45 mph and on my ancient longboard i hit 30 no tuck...
the road intercepts the 56 and has a family mart near that corner it goes parallel to camp lester (Navy Hospital) i'll do some research and post some pics of it. or the pics of the surrounding area
the top upper left of this photo is camp lester and the ocean with american village. im at the top of the hill with my old board taking the photo, the red is the road and its steeper than a mother ####er.

in my previous post i called this run kangaroo rd, thats the other run that goes up behind camp foster, the plaza housing part...
this run with the pictures cuts through a hills side to the back end of camp foster or the back gate for kubasaki high school...
WOW! Thanks for that man. I know exactly where both those streets are. I've driven on them. I'll check em out when I get there for sure. I also heard from someone else that there are good runs up north, which I definitely believe. I also plan to hit up the road to get to Aha Falls. Thanks again for going out of your way to post pics. So you don't live there anymore?

nahh, my family moved to california so i followed... lol great runs here too.. i wanna go back super bad...
suggestion, wear full leathers or pad or both... the roads in oki are made out of coral...
coral = shred flesh...
i was kite boarding over the reef and fell, stupid didn't let go of the kite and was dragged 50+ yards over coral...
Yeah, the streets are so smooth, though. Feel like heaven when carving. I'll definitely be protected up for any gnarly roads. I'm expecting to master the super-narrow-single-lane pendy real quick. Haha

The day's approaching. I've got some hiccups with my orders, but I'm already nearly packed to go.
Is there a "scene" at all on the island? Any group sessions? I'm tired of skating alone here in Nebraska and in California when I visit.
