Hey. What uni do you go to? I'm also a malaysian longboarder in melbourne but I won't be goin bak to m'sia this summer. Will be sticking around melbourne for most of it. What kind of vault do u have? my first board was a vault. really crappy so i got a loaded board instead.

Hey...I'm at melbourne uni now so mainly skate around campus and around the carlton area. yeah my vault board is kinda defective. they guy did a #### job drilling the holes in that place the trucks so its biased towards the left side. i just got ordered myself a loaded dervish from boardshop.com.au. kinda intimidating considering im a new rider but i figured i might as well invest in a good board that last me forever.

whereabouts are you at? care for a meet up? gotta warn you im not that good though.

The dervish is a wonderful board. I wouldn't say it will last you forever tho... haha. I had a vault fishtail and it was a fine board to get me started in longboarding. I've only been skating for 3 months but there's hardly a day i don't skate since i started. I study at monash and i also skate around campus mostly but I go around looking for hills to bomb. There's a park nearby called Jells lake. Heard that it was like 1km of downhill. Gonna go check it out when i get bak. My friend and i r also planning on skating from monash to the city 1 day and filming the entire thing. If ur up for, u can join us tho it's gonna be a pretty long journey.

Shouldn't be too hard. There's a bike trail going along the railroad line for most of the way at least. I think it's around 20km. Can't wait to do it. What kind of board does your friend ride?

oh and btw, i just saw your post about the bushings. I agree that u should try the stock ones out first before u swap them for khiros. If you were to swap them, i wouldn't go with different bushing duros for the front and back unless ur doing some serious downhilling. for my dervish, i don't have a front and back. I use the red khiro barrels for the top and blue khiro barrels for the bottom.

he has the same as me at the moment. a 34" vault board. pretty decent for just commuting i guess which is pretty much what he uses it for. should be sufficient to withstand a 20km trip.

yeah and about the bushings i'll just see how the factory bushings are first. hows china going?

China's great. Food is so much better than australia's. I also have a skateboard here so i'm not deprived of skating. miss my longboard tho. I'm gonna bring my skateboard here bak to melb and use it as a sliding board. have u got a pair of slide gloves? My friend that skates with me is now using my old vault. i made him a pair of slide gloves. cost me $7. i got a pair of loaded gloves but i make my own slide pucks

haha it has happened to all of us. cept for my friend tho. he has only scraped up his elbow and back pretty bad. the back was from skating topless. i've got a massive hole on my left knee from landing on the same spot 3-4 times. scraped up both knees and elbows many times, so now if i do any sliding i wear pads haha. well half the time at least.
you should either get or make a pair of slide gloves. they're really useful. i can show u how to make them when i get back to melb if u want.

Hey there. I don't know of anyone who longboards (as in speedboarding) in Malaysia but I ride street luge. Been riding for over 11 years now.

If you want, we can meet up and I'll take you to the hills that I ride. Are you Malaysian?
