I personally would, since there are a lot of HUGE parks, with nice concrete trails. (I spent pretty much the entire summer regretting my decision to leave my boards at home...)
Might want some wheels that are on the larger side though, since there are a lot of roughly laid sidewalks/bike lanes. (These bike lanes are giant lanes along the sides of the road that are separated from the vehicle road by one of those concrete dividers. Pretty awesome.)
Something you'll want to remember is to be careful at the places where the sidewalk crosses an intersection, because a lot of Chinese drivers are... less than exemplary drivers. Those crazy Asians.
I noticed that you said you were going on a tour. If a train ride happens to be part of that tour, you'll want a smaller board, because the trains can get pretty packed when you have suitcases.
