hey dubester are you planning to join? i don't think you need a visa for the philippines. no details about the race though. probably not as fast as NorAm or european races.

No need for a visa for the philippines if yo have a us passport and are staying less then 18 days, I think. I'm not entirely sure on th enumber days but I remember it was just under 3 weeks, and over 2 weeks.
Go out, skate, and enjoy the ride.

Dubester... Not sure if there was a cash prize... according to the guys, the course is 900m long and the speed is roughly 65-70kph.

Glad to see that you've stumbled upon this thread... happy to say that the Philippine longboard scene is growing... lots of people here are getting hooked on the stoke, myself included. 5 races have already been held over the past year and we're all loving it. These races though are still not in the same caliber as the ones you join but from the looks of it I hope and envision the Philippines to be the site for the first Asian Race of the IGSA... just need to find a great stretch of road perfect for an event like that... I know many are out there somewhere and we'll find it. And when we do, you guys at the fish will be the first to know! Cheers
    I enjoy going down...

    There are competitions.

Race hills aren't that fast yet. Around 60-65kph tops, maybe 70. They're pretty short though, longest is around 800 meters. but we're scoping out new spots that are longer and faster so we as riders can progress.

If the hills are too tame, then come for the parties. its fun any way you look at it

Are loaded, lush or gravity slidegloves cheap in Phillipines? Over in Singapore it cost a bomb.

Branded slide gloves can be quite expensive here in the Phils. I just got mine together with my board when I ordered my dervish from loadedboards.com, I figured it'd be cheaper that way since I'm not just buying one item from their website. Maximize the shipping cost if you know what I mean.
