hey guys, im here in the philippines and im heading for beijing and shanghai on the 17th!

I already know where to get a dervish here in the philippines but I think it would be cheaper if I bought it in China.

There are hardly any long boarders in Shanghai except for the occasional expatriate and no shops that carry loaded decks, that I know of - though I was just passing through at the time.

IMHO it'll be cheaper and easier to purchase a loaded deck here in the Philippines. And try out the other brands (ladera, ew, gravity), they've got quality engineered stuff too for less than a loaded board, all available of course through the local distributors.

The decks are laminated, cut, and shaped in China by MIAO Bamboo Industry & Trading Co. Ltd. then sent to California for labeling.

yeah I'm here in shanghai right now and I came from beijing yesterday. amazing pavement they have here! and the hills by the great wall are pretty awesome too! theres one hill similar to watchtower there. but the drivers here are really crazy and even drive in the bycycle lanes.

there are great (BIG)open spaces for flatland dancing, specially the space infront of the birds nest olympic stadium

In terms of urban planning, I think you'll find those wide, open spaces are for the efficient movement of troops in times of civil unrest. And those large plazas (like Tiananmen Square) are just perfect for herding unarmed civilians before sending in the tanks.

    Sorry
    Enjoy your trip.

tiananmen square is really for that military troops, but there are a lot of open spaces not used at all. like their parks are really big cause they can abuse their land area cause their country is so big and their limited population.

but damn. the old people here are bionic. they'll just push you if you're in their way when you're walking in the streets

otherwise you'll see them smoking even in enclosed spaces (I saw an old man with a bamboo bong, it looked awesome)

but I havent seen any skateshops. I saw a couple of trick skaters in a park though.

Most Chinese drivers are crazy (nothing compared to Filipino drivers though), but there are bike lanes EVERYWHERE which is waesome.

Shot from my hip during my last visit to China:
