Default Best way to make wheel wells?

I have 3/4'' risers with my RII's on my 60'' dancer.

I want to have the trucks a little loose, yet when they are tightened(so much in fact that the washer thingies are slicing into the bushings.) they still bite a bit.

I'm looking to put in some wheel wells before I put a finish on my board.

What would be the best way to accomplish this?

    Oh here is the board:

Drum sander or simply a can wrapped with coarse grain sand paper. As always test on something else first.

i just posted this somewhere else

loosen trucks up all the way/take off your top bushing, wrap sandpaper around wheel, push wheel against deck and turn.

it takes a while and is rough on your hands, but they'll be in exactly the right place for your wheel size, and match where your trucks hit.

get a file and make shoddy ass wells and ruin a great board. thats how i do it. just take the file to the area you think the wheels would make contact and file away!

    jk, dont do that.

Yeah drum sanders are handy. If you don't have access to equipment like that and/or have no money the paper/can has always works great. The bigger the can the bigger the wells.

If you want to spend a bit of time, then save time later.

honestly a file and some time is your best method, or the can method, cause you can screw up wheels wells in a hurry if you dont know how with a drum sander or what not

I'm actually thinking about trying this method (I have a dremel, but I don't know if that's enough to get the job done..maybe after).
How did you get the griptape to stay securely on the wheel? Doublesided tape's not doing it for me, and I don't want to ruin a set of wheels with superglue or whatnot...

Hey I saw these drum sander attachment things in a hardware store. They said they could just be hooked up into a drill. Do these things work?

Yes they do work but it takes a while. The best way for me is using a belt sander.

lol, i'm actually making wheel wells for a bhnc i chopped this afternoon. i'm using the can method with 50-grit gator sand paper. it's taking a while, but no too long. i'm about a little less than 1/4 of the job done after 30 mins. i like this method; the wheel wells that are coming out look mighty pro

can you explain to me the "can method" ? you attach the can to some tool or you do the work with your hand?
I just did my wheel wells using a drill attachment , is far from being pretty but they made wheel bite on my brad edwards with 1/4 riser impossible !!!
