My first board

bump lol well im about to make the new board and i was wondering how thick of wood should i use? im going to try and fiber glass it and the board will be about the same as the one a posted just with a longer wheel base. i think around 33-34in. and im just wondering how thick i should make the wood 1/2 in or 3/8in or small?lol and how many layers of fiber glass i should use for it. i weigh about 150lbs

What kind of wood are you going to be using? That makes a big difference. If you use 1/2 inch of baltic birch, and 1/2 inch of bamboo, they will turn out completely different.

Half inch of baltic birch should be fine for a speedboard. It will be stiff and heavy.

would 1/2 still be good for a dancing board? or would it be to stiff? and how many layers of fiber glass would that be? lol sorry for all the questions

ok well i just got a sheet of 1/4in x 4ft x 4ft so the size choices i have is 1/4 or 1/2 lol so im going to go with 1/2 and just put 1 layer of fiber glass but should i put one on both sides or just one?

Do the bottom first... too flexy? Do the top too...

ok thanks lol i just put the board in a press i made in about 10 minutes but it seems to be doing ok lol and press was just to make the ends curve up like a regular skate board

used about a whole bottle of glue lol
