old school board creation

Ok so my mom tells me that since im not putting any innitiative into school (going to be sophmore looking to be aerospace engineer) i should build my own board. Now my friend got some slide a's for his sand wedge and that didn't work out to well. We went into his garage and found his dads old vert skateboard. We put the wheels on there and it was pretty nice. (just needed a bushing change.

but here i get to the point. I want to make a board similar to that except im going to ride it like a mini. I have some designs and i've looked at board making vids and tips but what gets me is the kick tail and small bend in the nose.

here's a board thats alot like it.

my designs. Im really liking #8 right now

3 and 4

5-7

number 8. it has a straight ending tail wide front but wheel cutouts of sorts in front and back

any comments on these are helpful and answering my question would help the most.
For length im thinking 33-35 in. and widest i havn't figured out yet.

Hey dude I like the project idea. Here's an old school inspired deck I did last summer.

What are your favorite decks? I'm a big fan of the Roskopp face deck if you can't tell haha.

i actually wouldn't be able to tell you haha. it was yesterday when me and my friend got his dads old board. also i like yours but i want more of a wider front tapering till you get to the tail. and a less lengthy nose. not a big fan of those. But that board looks sick

also, its more like a wider more sturdy ceviche.

i have not pressed a board with a kicktail yet, but there are, in the post your board press thread, pictures that would help to check out. eastbilt .com has uncut blanks cheap, they are not far from you, so you would get it in like 2 days.

i would get it from eastbilt but they're cut out is too short for what i was thinking. and i think i got the layout based on dimms press. thanks any way

I hope you asked him first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some of those old boards are worth a bit of money on eBay, and it might be real sentimental to him.

Anyhow, the eastbilt blanks are ok, but the kick angles are kind of steep. Try skatepaige, I think they have large uncut blanks.

yeah we did. its really beat up though. the tail is chiping pretty badly on the one side. but man, it is a mad tech slide board.

Have a look at "Original's" 'Hybrid'.

I like mine, might even consider a trade or something.
Anyway, the shape you're illustrating looks similar.

pressing the board shouldn't be that hard. do the same thing on the dimm instructional video for a drop deck, except for kicktail, the ends of your concave foam made the wedging for a kicktail. it might be easier to just put some weight on the nose for that slight kicktail, similar to how you put rocker on a skimboard.

haha. just to let you guys no this thread is a lil old. i actually have a roarockit vacuum press and all i need to do is press and cut the board. i have my foam shaped and everything.
