    Default Board Building Help?

Alright so I've got it down to this:

    - foam mold (using http://www.silverfishlongboarding.com/forum/longboard-board-building/103172-dimm-press-instructional-video.html)

... and yeah. Pretty sad, but the wood choices are slowing me down. I know most boards use baltic birch plywood (1/4" - 1/8"), but I've seen poplar being used. I only weigh about 115 lbs, so I don't think I'll need that much wood, but just when my friends ride my board, that's when I get worried.

As for style, I'd like something like the Original Skateboards Derringer: nice flex, camber, and a bit of concave. I like the shape too, but wheelbite would be on my mind if I stick to that design. I have 85mm Speedvents, so I'll have a bit of measuring to do.

SO. All things aside, I'm looking at quite a bit of work to do. I'm not going to have as much time now as I would in the last week of August, so if I get all my planning done now, I can get straight to work when all my longboard-less stuff is finished.

I've read many forum topics about board building (which means I have indeed used the SEARCH function :P), and I've visited Toothless Longboards one too many times. I'm still a bit unsure on how I'm going to put the board together, but I'm pretty sure the simplest way would be just to get two layers of wood, glue/epoxy resin them together, and slap it in the press to get the curves.

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I think I will try the same, but don't you need to use veneers with a foam mold?
