Default how to add w to deck that only has concave

Here is a method that works great and feels sooo good on your tootsies! Very tuneable ie highth width length along whole board just front/ rear different fron/rear...you get the idea.
First I cut and shape balsa (you can use anything, its just the spine) and superglue it to the board.

next 2 part foam, a little goes along way. This was an oz.

The next step is shaping the foam

now glass the finished shaped foam

Grind sand and your done, grip and ride!

Even with drying times this took a little more tha 4hrs.
Here is another one I did for the build off.

I hope this helps anyone who has thought about this before or maybe it will get the creative juices flowing!

Good job, nice and clean. Had the same idea a couple of days ago for the current build off, works good.

Easier way - Buy a sheet of jessup or some cheap grip tape. Lay down several layers in the center where you want the concave. Grip entire board.

You can even get strips of say 3/16" thick basswood from a hobby shop and shape that, and glue it down, or even use the tape to hold it in place. you don't even have to worry about glassing if you do it that way.

Exactly! All great ideas. I use the balsa and foam because I have it and use it for other things.
It takes litterally a couple minutes to form and you dont have to glass it for that matter. A while a go I used it to create concave so many uses!

    Very nice.

But could I ask what's the purpose of the piece of balsa?

Why couldn't you just lay down the 2-part foam and then shape it, glass it, grip it, ride it??

The balsa for me is just a way to help me shape it, helps keep it centered and uniform.
You do not need it at all. Balsa is almost as light if not as light as the foam so it doesnt really add any weight.
