i used 2 sheets of 6mm birch plywood. actually, it's all explained in my little tutorial.
the guy i've got the idea from has just made a new tutorial, you can find it at
http://users.pandora.be/Toothless/
go ahead and try, it's not very hard to build a decent deck. Even I could managed it

Pretty ill board dude! I like! What are you planning for it? Just cruising? Bombing? etc.
Nah, looks really good, esp. for a homemade.
Tip for anyone, don't try and make a 1 ply thick board, no matter how short the wheel base is...

well, mainly i'm gonna use it for cruising, because i live in the north of germany where everything's flat. i'll try some downhill when i find an appropiate hill, though.
downhill on the dike is not really fun

Nice work , Fungus. Really sweet for your first deck, good instructions as well. There's nothin' like the pride of craftin' your own ride..!...

the deck looks good, as do most, it looks like you could get a wee bit of wheel bite at the front though, but you could just put 1 raiser there.
ps how do get a pic that is bigger than 80 pixles wide???? u seeme to have done it
You laugh at me for being different!
I laugh at you all for being the same!

Ath, his avatar is loaded elsewhere, enabling him to use whatever size the pic is.
Problem with that is... someone can backtrack, and if it's on your own site, they can throw little attacks at you, steal your pics, or generally spam the shite out of you. It has happened before.

i got the randalls and krypto's three days ago, set it up with bones reds and no risers and it is perfect for cruising around the city.
it's dry for the first time since october, so i spent the last three days skating all the time
i noticed that my board already lost quite a lot of camber, which is not too bad, but as i plan to build another board for a friend's birthday, i'd like to know how i can prevent this
more and thinner sheets of wood? fiberglass? different wood? different glue?
whatever, please help me

Epoxy resin and fiberglass...

I'd use the ...
fiberglass
6mm ply
6mm ply
fiberglass
That is thick and strong aeough, and three lams of glass is plenty. In fact, it might be stiffer if you add the third layer of glass to the top or bottom. Let the wood bond to the wood in the middle. They'll flex less when they're glued to each other in a laminate like this.
