    Default Eye phly-ing phish

Just a little tribute to a place that has amped up my stoke.

    2 layers of 1/8" BB.
    1 layer of 1/4" BB.
    slight concavity.
    big nose to tail camber.
    9" wide.
    40" long.
    32" hole to hole.
quite flexy for a 195lb concrete surfer.
    I didn't want a classic pin-tail....... I like more foot room...... its more of a phat-tail.

Should be great for mellow cruising for light riders at less than 150lbs.

needs final clear coating........ I had to post it up.......

I guess I should have typed that out

laid out "blue painters tape" drew outline, lightly cut with exacto knife, removed internal tape, used a small little detail spray gun and used various colors of PPG BASE COAT DBC.

    Off white.
    Pewter.
Used some expanded paper stretched over deck. For scales.
    Silver.
    Removed expanded paper.
Faded with some blue candy with a bit of "filp/flop" dry mica powder from the art store.
Pin striped the out line and the crappy side fin using House of Color pin striper's paint, used blue and purple mixed with silver.......
The eye is cardinal red and bright yellow.

removed tape and its ready for clear on 11-7-09. will most likely use quick dry poof can polyurethane, I don't like the water borne as it tends to melt the PPG BASE COAT colors...

The clear will make the colors "pop" in person.

very budget but fun old school art that anyone can have fun with

You can use an airbrush..... they still make cheap ones..... you can also use the Liqua-Tex airbrush paint from your local art supply store.
