Default Ah the wonders of MDF!

First of all I made a longboard rack as a school project. I chose MDF because it would take on the automotive paint finish really well

I still had half a sheet of MDF left so I did the only logical thing you could do - make a longboard! This one is made up of a 3mm sheet of plywood sandwiched between 2 sheets of 12mm MDF. A bit of flex, awesome fun to ride! But not in the rain of course

I still had a bit left over so I made a mini too

    LOL

    Heavy...

    Mini will probably be OK...

Breakage on the long one I'd say is inevitable, so make sure you get all your use out of it before it happens

Awesome. I love the griptape. Anyway you'd be willing to post the stencil/template for the feet?

Very impressive! One of the better racks I have seen on SF. The grip tape feet are pretty darn cool as well!

I'm going to copy your design for a board rack when I get home. Well done!

i agree that mdf works wonders, i love the way it cuts with no tearout!

I haven't dealt with it as much as i'd like to... but it only has certain uses...

In my stereo days i'd built several sub-boxes out of it, and it works soooo nice for that. I'm still using one of the boxes about 5 years later and it sounds even better (thanks to some stuffing).

I like the idea of the rack, wish i had the space! but good job man, the paint looks wicked clean too. good job!
