mine in progress is a half an inch thick. 4 plys of baltic birch. if u want to go lower ply. u need CF Kev. of fiberglass for sure. like if u did 2 plys... i would say ull need some heavy duty 24oz. fiberglass. (the THICK stuff) which is used for boat building. its EXTREMELY strong. u'd need 1 or 2 layers on the bottom. and how much on the top is just a preference

i made a 2ply birch with 24oz on the top bottom and middle and its super strong and flexes a fair amount. i was thinking of doing 3 1/16 peices of wood with 8oz between each and 24oz on the bottom and maybe on the top?

I can usually get a good solid board at 3/8" (1/4" vlam core and 1/8" BB). Flex just depends on the wood Im using for the vlam.

vertical lamination, like when you see those boards with long strips of alternating wood. You can either press the strips in a contour and press them all together at once, or what I do is just press them all together with clamps and plane them to make a nice even board, then press them in a contour with a sheet of BB on top to hold the shape. I use a simple wood jig press.

Wood is laminated side by side from bottom to top (vertically).

dam. that is a gorgeous board. thanks for the help !
how "wood" you lay that up though and shape it? on verticaly on its side stacking the layer of wood ? having some sort of mold with rods sticking up on a main piece, then lay up the board in that to give it curve then cut and shape the rails once that drys

haha i can post a drawing i dont think that was to clear?
